forgive me for this long rant about everything surrounding Jared, itâll be the last time i make a post about it i promise.Â
Iâm just hearing about how the bar jared called out has supposed to have been open for 3 hours now and it hasnât. The entire business is suffering because of him. WhichâŚi guess was his goal, since he made it a public complaint.
I donât know. The more I hear about it the more I despise how Jared handled the situation. I still love the guy. But this was justâŚawful.Â
I think part of the reason I dislike it so much is because I have this fear of disappointing people and getting a reaction like this. Thereâs no way I could handle what Jared put that girl through. How awful is that, that had this girl been me, and I got all the death threats this girl received, Jaredâs own words about AKF, IAE, LYF wouldnât have helped. isnât that a little ironic.Â
I know what itâs like to have your mental illness belittled and not taken seriously. Iâve been told time and time again that my depression isnât real because i have everything a person needs. However, I am still held responsible for my actions, my depression or anxiety does not justify treating people poorly.Â
And before you jump on me for defending the girl, iâm not. If what Jared said is true, then what she did was awful and she needs to learn better.Â
But Jared has fought so hard to teach that we need to combat hate with kindness and that we need to always keep fighting, but he didnât follow through with that today and as a fan, i am hurting. Iâve seen people say just because heâs a celebrity doesnât mean he canât voice his opinion.
Which is true, but as a celebrity he has a responsibility whether he wants it or not. His words have more power than the average human, itâs why his campaigns do so well. And unfortunately, itâs the same reason why this incident got so big.Â
His apology, if it even was one, was too little too late. His âfansâ took it too far, like they usually do. And harassed and hurt a business, out of blind faith and then had the audacity to call it the work of the spnfamily.Â
Thatâs not what the spn family is about. This isnât at all what the spn family is about. We donât harass random people. We donât send death threats, whether it be to the bar, the cast, or random companies.Â
The spn family are the people who do good. they raise money for mental health charities, they fund a fandom hotline, they trend hashtags with Misha love and participate in GISHWHES. They spend all day congratulating Jensen on his twins, they create, they build. They include.
If you are happy that you helped âdestroyâ a company, you are part of the problem. Jared started the fire, and today we failed to put it out. Iâm ashamed of that.Â
I truly hope Jared is okay. I hope this is something that didnât set him back. But i also hope he doesnât do anything like this again. iâm torn.Â
