Ok, I asked my question about how the American Military is keeping diseases from one world from spreading to the other in the Q&A and Fenrir had some interesting things to say (one of which was that Jason was literally the military’s Guinea pig and was probably the only person going around without a biohazard suit on for the first few months). But one thing that really stood out to me is the fact that pretty much all of the non-magical illnesses humans can catch in the Fantasy Realm are the same as the ones in the Regular Realm. They just have different names.
Which brings me to this headcanon. Tholdrin is an only child, but not because his parents stopped with him. He was just the only one who survived past the age of 5.
excuse me rewind they just chucked Jason into the fantasy world for what- shits and giggles?
And this makes me wonder what they call our diseases. And how their diseases evolved almost exactly like ours. Or what the magical diseases do
And oh gods poor Tholdrin.
Like I said. He was their Guinea pig to see if there was anything free floating in the Fantasy Realm that would one-shot us. He had to take his temperature daily and report any symptoms for the first month or so!🤣
And I would love to see Tholdrin’s reaction to the idea of vaccines and the fact that many people refuse to get them.

I’m on MadMan Fenrir’s patreon, so I fully intend to ask him this at the next Q&A, but I am really curious what the US Military has in place to 1) keep from carrying new diseases from the Fantasy Realm back home and 2) (maybe more importantly) not transmit diseases from back home TO the inhabitants of the Fantasy Realm! I mean, one case of influenza slipping through could trigger a “greenfield outbreak” the likes of which we haven’t seen since the 1919 Flu Pandemic. (Food for thought; COVID killed more people in total, but the 1919 flu killed a much larger percentage of the total population at the time. In the South Pacific, whole language groups went extinct!)
damn it why didnt i think of that? thats a actual concern.
Here’s a good place to start for research…
Edit: and I was off by one year…1918.

I’ve talked before about how odd it is that Normie doesn’t know what cheese or tomatoes are. It might mean that – other than humans – Normie’s world has completely different plant and animal life compared to Earth.
If that’s true, it makes humans so much weirder. How are humans human if nothing else is the same?
I have a theory!
Normie’s world is partly inspired by D&D. In the world of D&D, as written, humans are the only sapient species that no god claims to be the creator of. Dwarves, elves, giants etc. all have a god that made them. No one knows where humans come from.
This could mean one of two things-
1. A god made humans but, for whatever reason, they don’t want to admit it
2. Even the gods don’t know where we’re from. We just turned up and the gods are like ‘how did these things get here!?’
We know that travel between our world and Normie’s world is possible.
What if all the humans who are native to Normie’s world are descended from people who came there from Earth?
A lot people who ended up there wouldn’t have survived. They wouldn’t have known what was safe to eat or what other things were dangerous. However, some of them would have gotten lucky and learned how to live there. Some of the lucky ones discovered and started to harness magic.
By now, enough generations have passed that the humans who live there assume it’s where they were always from.
As much as the last thing I would be fascinating from a historical standpoint in both worlds its also pretty funny to picture us as pests that appeared from the void and started fucking shit up
An invasive species that can (and WILL) hybridize with several of those species those gods created! Imagine their consternation when the first half-elf was born.
i have no notes but I just needed to comment. This is exactly what happened I will take no criticism/j
If this ends up being the origine of humans in Normie’s world, then I’m sure at least some of the gods have worked out where we come from.
If you make a pond in a garden and don’t put any fish in it, eventually you get small fish anyway. It seems like they just appear out of nowhere. In reality, they got there because a bird ate some fish, some of them survived digestion, got pooed out, fell in the pond and started breading. I imagine humans in Normie’s world are like those fish.
The gods made a world and then humans just turned up. At first, they had no idea how we got there. Maybe they tried to wipe us out but we just kept turning up.
One of the Makers: What a wonderful and perfect world we have made.
Maker Two: Yes, we’ve really outdone… what the hell is that thing and how did it get in there!?
Maker One: I have no idea! Wait… these two of them now and they’re breading!
Maker Two: Quick, we have no idea how long gestation is with these things! Let’s scoop them up and…
Maker One: Shit! Three more popped up and they’re coming on to some of my elves! No, my precious ones! Don’t touch that! You don’t know where it’s been!

America Wizard Tiktok SUPER CUTS
The preschool is buying heirloom sunflower seed in bulk. We’re going to make a ‘Sunflower House’.
How to grow a sunflower house
@bacheloretteofscience THIS WORKS so well!
If you want to get super fancy, do a second ring on the outside of 4’ tall sunflowers then a third outer ring of the 1’ tall teddy bear sunflowers. If there are any gaps you can interplant with cosmos, amaranth and nasturtiums or (if there are huge gaps) gourds.
My mom used to do this for me in the backyard as a kid- it really works and I always loved it! Spent so many summer days having tea parties with teddy bears in my sunflower house.
Okay so… I could witch the hell outta this
do you want faeries? this is how you get faeries
1) The link still works after all these years! This post is 8 years old!
2) From what I understand, Coast Salish tribal communities don’t have fae*. This school primarily has children from local tribes.
**I could be wrong. 🤷🏻
I’m making one this year! Will post in progress pics. Here’s my seedlings…
Gonna have three rings of various sized sunflowers. The local birds are gonna be so happy this fall.
Planted outside!

No prablem for liver of sulfur though!!
This looks cursed as hell. I'm delighted.
Aaaah, another customer of Ea-nasir!
Hey, I recently moved into a very old house which has a library, and I keep feeling a…presence when I’m in that room. How can I tell for sure if it’s haunted or maybe if the library itself has become sentient? Not that I want to get rid of whatever or whoever it is (they feel quite friendly to me). I just need to know if I need to do anything special to make sure they’re happy with me being there.
Hmm...have you tried asking them what they like? Oujia boards or spirit boxes usually help with that.
As for the library either being sentient or haunted...no clue. I guess if the board and box dont work, the library is just sentient-
Ooookay, spirit box and Oujia boards were a bust (although, using them I met a really nice ghost haunting the historic church right down the hill). I think it's the library itself that's sentient. You see, my sis and nephew came over for a visit, and sis suggested I put a TV in the library. We went into the library to see where it would best fit, and everyone of us felt an emphatic "NO!!!" in our heads. So any advice on living with a genius loci? Aside from NOT putting an unwanted TV in it? It made itself pretty damn clear about that. ;)
I would like to steal a tagline from one of my favorite YouTubers, Counsel of Geeks (aka Vera Wilde), and add a bit to it for anyone who needs it today.
You are beautiful.
You are valid.
And you are loved.
And you are so very deserving of help.

What do we think tumblr?
Is the high geologist fuckable?
As a fellow ace, I would say he is desirable, but not fuckable. That is unless he is a romantic ace who wants to make his partner happy. 😉
13 Full Moons of the Year 2026 (x)
okay, so if you're like me and you're wondering why there is a blood worm moon, it turns out that it's two separate things. March is the worm moon because in the Northern hemisphere that's when the ground is usually thawing and all our little worm and bug friends start waking up! And then the blood moon is when the moon passes through the Earth's shadow and looks sorta red. This year, the worm moon happens to be a blood moon.
No bloodworms are involved.
Other names for March include Sugar Moon and Goose Moon, so if you don't like the sound of blood Worm Moon, you could say Red Sugar Moon or Shadow Goose Moon.
sorry , no. the blood worm for thee
Wait! Tell me more about this Shadow Goose
Shadow Goose has potential …
It is a lovely night, and you are a terrible Shadow Goose!
