Lawrence’s face fell staring dead-eyed at the girl infront of him. He couldn’t bring himself to speak, and he doubted that anything would come out of his mouth if he tried.

His footsteps barely made a sound on the floor as he walked away, still gazing off into the distance like he was in a trance.

DAD! She hurried after him, reaching out to grab his arm. Dad I'm sorry! I didn't mean it! D-don't go! Please, please, please don't leave me again...

His expression barely changed as she gripped onto his arm. He looked haunted, continuing to walk despite her weight dragging him back. “Get off.”

Not until you talk to me. I'm sorry. Okay? How can I make you understand that I hurt too? Why can't my feelings factor into this? Why are you the only one that gets to believe? She held on tighter to his arm and made him look at her. Maybe I deserve to know why you hate me.

“You hurt? From what? Watching a dying man scream for your help? Or was it hearing the screams of your family down a phone while you were forced to saw your own limb off to get to them? Or was it the burning hot pipe you had to cauterise yourself with? Or was it the constant insomnia? Or the night terrors? You were a young child. I was an adult. I dont get to forget things. Ghosts aren’t real. So dont feed into my hallucinations, and let go.”
