Not every chapter is written in ink; some are found in blurry photographs, late nights, and old songs ✨
We dance beneath dying chandeliers, not for joy, but because surrender is the closest thing we have to living…

“Even the smallest bud knows the secret of hope: to open, despite the memory of frost.”

“I did not deceive you, mon ami. At most, I permitted you to deceive yourself.”
~Agatha Christie

“When spares are spared, when time is turned, when unseen children murder their fathers: Then will the Dark Lord return.”
Last day of March,
the days grow kinder.
I really struggled to get through this one.
The writing style didn’t do it any favours, it felt overly artificial, almost as if it lacked a genuine voice. Because of that, I found it really hard to connect with the narrative or take its reflections seriously.
It’s a shame, because the premise had real potential, especially with its focus on stepping away from technology and exploring identity. But in the end, the execution just didn’t work for me.

I don’t quite know how to categorise this book but it’s definitely not a thriller. Elsie Mabel Fitzpatrick is an interesting character, and her long, shadowy past keeps you curious about what really happened.
That said, the pacing didn’t fully work for me. It’s very much a slow-burn, which I don’t mind in theory, but the middle section dragged quite a bit and lost some of my attention. There were moments where it felt like the story was circling instead of moving forward.
Still, I have to admit I liked it overall. The atmosphere and character work kept me invested enough to see it through, and the concept itself is memorable. Even if it didn’t completely grip me the whole time, it’s a solid read with a unique angle; just maybe not the thriller some readers might be expecting.
It’s stormy outside ⛈️
I see the world in colours, darkness and light, dancing hand in hand,
"I've missed you old friend, till we meet again."
“The world softens in spring, and somehow, so do I.”
“I don’t have all the answers, but I’m starting to ask better questions.”

“I woke up to the scent of spring 🌺”
“I want to be found among the ivy and shadows, a book clutched to my chest, sunlight brushing my face, as if the world outside were a secret whispered only to those who read too much and feel too deeply.” ☀️
