idk why californians (but especially angelenos) get such a reputation of being unfriendly assholes. sorry not sorry but as a southerner these people are far, far kinder and more friendly than the entirety of the south combined. legitimately EVERY single time i go out somewhere, strangers strike up conversation or make smalltalk or just go out of their way to say hello. everyone's got a smile for you. compliments come easy and naturally. the sense of community here is unlike anything i've experienced in my entire fucking life. i'm starting to think the rest of the country is just mad jealous and thus has to come up with lies about the people to make themselves feel better lmao
