Podcast Process.

I really enjoyed this project in particular the uploading process, It gave me a sense of professionalism and an opportunity to see what it would be like if i was to pre-sue my podcast further than this project.

Setting up the profile was straightforward and as you can see the image i used throughout I also used in the album art to keep things consistent.

I used the master-track to allow a crisp sound and had the option to play around with this in the introduction episode. When it came to uploading the second episode I was forbidden from using the master track because of the length. It was a good learning experience moving forward, it will keep me conscious of the time during production.

Process:

The IG process was smooth sailing once all the artwork from Pinterest and photoshoot was completed. It was a matter of putting it together to look aesthetically pleasing. 

I used the quotes from Pinterest to add a motivation sector amongst the photos to showcase the movement at the beginning to establish what the page is about. Due to captions being short and predominantly filled with emojis, I will use the quotes to push the empowerment content through and use the photography to connect on a personal level.

You can’t get away from the notifications and hate it follows you through your handheld device. This podcast aligns with the movement i’m trying to create. It is evident that body empowerment is in high demand for plus-size women to be accepted on Instagram.

The negative comments outweigh the positivity and can weigh heavily on your mental health, self image, self esteem and confidence. Not only was this podcast relatable, it was spoken from experience. The same experience many plus-size women go through.

It’s no secret that the more I research, the more motivated I become to make this movement a reality. 

Fine tuning my project title wasn’t so difficult after the conversation I had with my partner. A question I had been asking him so innocently for 12 years didn't make sense until now. I was conditioned by society to care about my image. The unspoken rule of “one size fits all” ( society's expectation ) was to act, look and speak a particular way to be more liked. 

I had questions, how do I change to fit those beliefs? How do I look acceptable? How do I get strangers to like my imperfections? More importantly, Am I the only one that feels like this?

So I went back to the hashtags and compared #hotwomen and #plussizewomen. There were several difference in the image constructions that stuck out from this search; The clothing, angles, locations, compositions, lighting, and tone.

Swimwear promotes confidence whereas layers of clothing promotes security and comfort.
