soda getting braces and being so embarrassed about them but dallas thinks they’re adorable (based off of me getting my rubber bands again today 🫩)

i like to think that darry is the only one to really notice dallypop in the early stages. he notices how sodapop has gotten so much happier and close he and dallas are. he notices how they gravitate towards each other, even though it’s subtle around the others. he’s not surprised at all when sodapop finally tells him, or when he finds them curled up together on the couch one night. he’s just glad that sodapop is finally happy again, and that dallas is softening up and getting the love he’s always deserved.

hc that dallas hates his middle name and nobody knows it besides johnny. until one day, when sodapop and dallas are hanging out, just talking. sodapop then asks what his middle name is, since he knows all his friends’ middle names besides dallas. dallas refuses for about 5 minutes before he finally gives in and tells him, causing sodapop to erupt in happiness because no.1, dallas winston trusts him enough to tell him. and no.2, dallas tucker winston is the cutest name he’s ever heard in his life.
