List of times Barbara has been shown to be misogynistic toward innocent women who never said anything bad about her, since her fans love to accuse anyone who dislikes her of âmisogyny.â (THREAD)
Barbaraâs fans have a habit of targeting people who arenât fans of Barbara by personally insulting, harassing, bullying and publicly shaming them for expressing their OPINIONS about her across different social media sites and this Bullying Behavior is still going on to this day.
Theyâre willing to act âfeministâ for Barbara, but they donât stand up for the women who were dragged down just to prop her up.
To them, you are not allowed to say anything against Barbara, you should only like her or not say anything at all or else they will "PUNISH" you"
They are not a friendly fandom. They are a CULT, they make it their ultimate job to "humiliate" and punish anyone who doesn't like her.
Every time someone says anything critical about Barbara, or wants to have a discussion about how her character is written, her fans immediately show up and make the conversation personal. Instead of addressing the points being raised about her character or the writing, they often try to change the subject by attacking the person making the criticism. They don't want to focus on the points of the dicussion about Barbara, they want to focus on YOU.
They will call you names, doxx you, treat you like an evil person, label you as a "misogynist" who are taking panels out of context, make fun of you on social media, bring up personal issues that have nothing to do with the discussion, or make irrelevant accusations. This is their way of dodging valid criticism and avoiding any real discussion about the problems in her characterization or the way she is written, and it often makes it very difficult to have a thoughtful conversation about her without her fans creating Drama and resorting to Personal Attacks to shut you down.
Iâm posting this thread again to point out their HYPOCRISY and remind people that Barbara is not the "innocent victim/sheep who cannot be criticized" like her fans want to portray her.
She is a Fictional Character and we live in a Free Country, anyone is free to dislike her and share their own observation and perspective of her without being harassed, provoked, controlled and censored.

This was her first time meeting Kory, and she acted unprofessional and rude. She refused to help Kory with an urgent, life-or-death mission all because of a man. Her main concern was, âIs Kory going with Dick?â even though Kory never said anything bad to her, except "dated Dick"
She refused to add Kory to her team and again because Kory dated Dick and had a history with him. With her, it always comes back to a man. And Barbara fans complain about people disliking Barbara âover a man,â even though their favorite character hated on Kory over a man.
She tried to compare herself to Starfireâs to fish for compliments and validation from Dick. Itâs basically the whole âtell me you still like me even though she looks like that.â She even exaggerates Starfireâs appearance which is petty, Starfire never competed or insulted her.
Barbara got jealous of another woman who got with Dick again. She slutshamed Helena when she found out Helena had slept with Dick then told other people that Helena was sleeping with Roy out of spite, trying to get Dinah to slutshame Helena too.
even though it wasnât her place to say any of that. Helena never even told her, she probably heard it from someone else. Still, it was none of her business and Helena never gave her permission to reveal that to anyone.
She was smiling and smirking while slutshaming Helena, she really enjoys "punishing" people who dated Dick.
Then she had Helena sell her body to a man.
If she were truly a caring leader, if she genuinely cared about women and their rights, she would have prevented Helena from doing this. But no, she let it happen.
Barbara fans always excuse her behavior, saying she was written by misogynistic men, yet her slut-shaming of Helena was actually written by a woman (Gail Simone, by the way).

She talked crap about Helena to other people. When Helena was accused of a crime she didn't commit, Tim and the others wanted to save her, but Barbara keeps telling them she's a bad woman, a psycho or not right in the head
When Helena became the new Batgirl and was out saving peopleâs lives, Barbara became furious and tried to shoot her in the head with a sniper, claiming Helena had stolen her identity, even though she had already chosen to retire as Batgirl a long time ago and become Oracle.
Note. Betty Kane was the first and original Batgirl, so i don't even understand why she's claiming Batgirl is her own identity that other women stole. Anyway she was being childish about it. Instead of being grateful someone is saving people's lives, she's making it about herself
When Helena called Barbara to talk to her about an important mission, she immediately insulted her and refused to talk to her.
Even Batman noticed how unprofessional and childish she is, she always lets her hatred and misogny for other women get in the way of the mission.
Back to the Birds Of Prey series, she tried to befriend Helena, only to set her up on a deadly mission that could have killed her. When Helena found out, she was hurt and broken, as she had thought Barbara was her friend.

Then there was that time she was ableist toward a girl with dyslexia, like Cassandra Cain. She called her stupid because she didnât know how to read the letters in a book for her.
Then, rubbing it in Cassandra's face that she's the original Batgirl once again, Betty Kane was the first Batgirl, not her. Betty Kane debuted in 1961, while Barbara only appeared in 1967.
Then that times She secretly spied on Dinah's personal life without her consent then when Dinah confronted her about it, she berated Dinah like a kid, it's funny because in these panels, Barbara is that very word she's accusing Dinah of.
I didn't intend to make this post to Justify the Hatred for Barbara but rather to Point out the Hypocrisy, Ignorance and Double Standard of her Fandom.
Calling people who don't like Barbara "misogynists" while ignoring how Misogynistic Barbara has acted towards other women while unprovoked is HYPOCRITICAL.
Whether I am right or wrong, whether you call me Misogynist or Ableist or a Hypocrite this doesn't change the Fact that I am allowed to have an OPINION. I am allowed to express my thoughts about a Fictional Character. I am allowed to dislike a Fictional Character.
Barbara misbehaved in the panels I posted, it's been written in paper, it's been shown in comics they claim anti-DB people "don't read".
You cannot deny that Barbara has done terrible things worthy of being criticized, calling me names doesn't justify or magically erase all the awful stuff she did to innocent characters and you also can't deny that her fans never call out any of Barbara's bad behaviors

Calling Barbara "boring, " "basic" or "toxic" is not misogyny. It's called an OPINION.
Saying "Barbara is passed around the Batfamily,â is not Misogyny, it's describing how her character has been written.
Sheâs literally been romantically paired with almost every single member of the Bat-family (Bruce, Dick, Jason, Tim, Luke).
How else would you describe this "not" passed around?
The same as saying "she won't stop following Dick around like a dog" imo.
How else are you supposed to describe her behavior when sheâs been glued to Dickâs side in his book from issue #78 all the way to issue #130? Sheâs still there, stuck to him, refusing to leave him alone. Sheâs done nothing independently just staying in Dickâs apartment and being his trophy gf.
She was even decribed as "Girl Nightwing" in an actual comic instead of Batgirl. She's too been defined by Dick that an article even pointed it out.

Instead of attacking the critics, blame this misogynistic relationship and dickbabs writers. They ruined the public's image of her by reducing her into just a love interest to Dick.
And pls, her writers and fans are totally fine with calling Dick a "dog" when heâs with other women who arenât Barbara to try to make Barbara look like his one true love while the other women are portrayed as Meaningless Sexual Flings he was just playing with. The double standard is baffling.
Educate yourselves on the meaning of the word "misogyny." It means hatred for all women. When people criticize Barbara, that criticism is directed at her ALONE, not at all women.
Learn to separate criticism of a single fictional character from women as a whole.
I am a woman myself. I don't like Barbara not because she's a woman like me but because as others have pointed out, sheâs written as a Mary Sue whoâs always perfect, always favored, always viewed as Superior and Special, someone who can never be wrong and someone who is constantly propped up by dragging down other women including women of color.
So no, criticizing Barbara is criticizing her ALONE, not ALL Women.
Preferring Kory (who is a woman) over her is also not misogyny.
The real misogyny would be saying that Dick should only be paired with a man and not with a woman.
Or saying "Barbara is boring and passed around like all women."
And let's be honest: in the panels Iâve showed, Barbara has attacked more than one woman for no reason (Kory, Helena, Cass, Dinah, etc.). These women didnât deserve the way she mistreated them, especially when they never said or did anything to her. Sheâs the real MISOGYNIST.
But it's sad how her fans don't hold her accountable for her actions. To them, she's just the perfect innocent angel even when she's not.
Also Claiming the Moral High Ground while wishing Death and Torture on "REAL" People and making fun of their mental health for their opinion about a FICTIONAL Character is deeply disturbing and Psychotic. I don't get why people can laugh at this.

Iâm not claiming that DickKory or Starfire fans are perfect either. But honestly, most of the personal conflicts theyâve had with Dickbabs and Barbara fans started because they were provoked first. Usually, theyâre just discussing Barbara, and some of her fans respond with personal attacks especially since they like to call anyone who doesnât like Barbara or Dickbabs âstupid,â âableist,â âmisogynist,â or âdoesnât read comics,â etc. And stalk their own spaces,
Some even DM the person first to provoke them (Iâve seen this happen myself, as Iâve received hateful private messages from them). And depending on the person, when someone gets hurt, they sometimes lash out in return. Then they take screenshots and crop the responses to make it seem like it was the Dickkory fan who was bothering them first.
For them, it's less about discussing the characters and writings, and more about turning Discussions into Personal Fights which is what makes their Fandom Scary and Intimidating.
