We deserve a corny and sappy jancy breakup. I’m talking about the kind of corny where Nancy notices he’s been distant and gets the idea he’s no longer into her so to see if she’s right she suggests they take a break. That plan completely backfires because in Jonathan’s eyes he believes he has to let her go. He believes he’s the chain that’s bounding her to the ground when she’s meant for greater things. so, in response, he in fact does not fight harder for their relationship ultimately letting Nancy walk away.
