Aha! I figured out the "keep reading" thing.

Once again, I love designing clothes, so I wanted to take a crack at this fantasy version of the Galar gang. How I kinda imagine them. I was a bit lazy on a few of the hands, but the ones that mattered, I worked hard on, hehe. Tried some overlaying color styles. Just wanted to kind of keep the shading and such simpler for these. :3

Hop - In this fic, he's a simple farm boy who's buddies with Vic and Glo. So I thought just a sort of simple tunic type deal would work for him. Though I'm not a fan of his attire being similar colors to Marnie's, I wanted to still keep it somewhat in line with the colors he wears in canon. He's so happy here. Sweet summer child, that does not last... He eventually gets a coat similar to his canon one. I thought a longer version of it would look nifty. It's hard to restrain myself from making long flowy silhouettes. I just love 'em. See number 6 for prime example.

Gloria - She and her brother spar a lot, and I was told they have some leather armor. I tried incorporating elements of Zamazenta into some of it, while still keeping a similar red dress to her canon one. Thought it'd be fitting, as she ends up wielding the shield. :P She went through so many color variations. I struggled with her face a bit, too. Big anime eyes are tougher than I thought. I also doodled an idea for a cloak. I don't think it's mentioned in the fic, but I keep imagining her with some kind of traveling cloak.

Victor - I wanted a bit of a vertical, narrow design for Victor. It's my first time drawing him. I think I did pretty okay. :) In my eyes, he still looks enough like Vic with some of the younger features, while still looking older than canon. He and Gloria are 18 in this fic. :) Like with Gloria, I tried adding a touch of Zacian elements to the armor. It was a challenge. I kept going back and forth on a lot of colors and design options. Too much? Too little? I think this option's okay! He also gets a cloak. Again, not mentioned, but I keep imagining the twins in them...

Hahaha this scene was so badass in the fic. Marnie and Hop have an impromptu (and unwilling on Hop's part) spar and Hop pulls his knife at the last second in a panic. It's a super cool scene. I completely spazzed out for about 10 minutes after drawing the last single line that pulled Hop's left hand all together. I'm very pleased with all the hands in this pic. It was fun to also figure out the poses. Everyone say thank you to the Frieren meme. Thank you, Frieren meme. Would have really struggled without you, boo.

Marnie - In my humble lil opinion, I think I knocked Marnie out of the park, actually. I'm super jazzed about how her face turned out. It's mentioned how she never really seems to smile, and I think I got a nice intense look to her face. She's such a pretty girl with such reserved expressions. It's a challenge for me... There's a bit of pink under her flowy sleeves. :3 Was mentioned in the fic. Bless Masters EX for having models of these characters.

Fun fact, her outfit's based on an outfit that I've loved for like... 20 years, lol. Endling on Deviantart had some characters in a story of his called "Everafter." He'd done darker versions of fairy tale characters. Jack from "Jack and the Beanstalk" had the coolest outfit... I always wanted to cosplay it. Never did, so I will live vicariously though this design instead.

Bede - Beeeede. He's a mage in this story. The outfit description in the fic is kept vague, but I was told it was inspired by his Masters EX Neo Champion outfit. It's got such pretty colors, but like Marnie, I wanted some Hatterene inspiration onto it. I couldn't get over his ding dang pantaloons in that outfit, though. Those had to go, but you bet your bottom dollar he's getting some knee high boots. :D Tried making his features a little sharper and tired in these. A comment's made at some point about how he looks a tad malnourished. Big sad. :(

Oh, the challenge of trying to go with Hatterene colors while still trying to keep the white and purple included... I eventually conceded to the purple and white, but found a design that I quite like. I looooove big hats and flowy cloaks, so this was great. Also jazzed about how his hands and magic turned out. His hand poses were a struggle. I tried using my own hands for reference, but one of them's kind of injured so getting the poses I liked was haaaard. There was a brief discussion with Azure, the author, about whether there'd be any sort of Rose emblem, similar to what he has on the back of his jacket in the game. I decided to keep it off his current attire for now. :)

Another little scene from the fic. It might be tough to see, looking at it now. Ah well. At one point, Bede sort of gets mentally fried and gets a gnarly nosebleed from it. How I sort of imagined it looked at that campfire scene. I've never had any dramatic nosebleeds before, but I imagine it's a mess and a very bad time.

He gets into a bit of trouble, as well, and is made to wear these magic-cancelling manacles. And he's very unenthused. I feel like he's saying, "This is stupid, and you're stupid." Fair, fair.

It was so nice to finally get time to work on this. Life's so busy normally, but work's given me a nice little break. :)

Onto some more drawings for another couple of fics. :3
