Friday the 13th, eh?
“I can stay,” she told her. “I don’t mind.”
“I know, but it’s okay. I’ll deal with it,” she sighed.
there appears to have been a struggle
Dita was shaking as she settled down onto one of her kitchen stools, staring at the man on the floor. Without much thought to it, she moved her foot out of the way of the blood as it slowly started to make it’s way toward her. She looked a mess; bloody and bruised, but she couldn’t think about that much. Not with the dead body on her floor. She turned her gaze to her kitchen clock as she waited for Mollie, not sure what else to do.
“Mollie, I’ll handle it,” she mumbled.
“Okay,” she sighed softly. “I just… I just want you safe.”
“I know that you do.”
“I love you, Dita.”
She sighed and looked away from her. “I love you too,” she mumbled.

She closed her eyes and took in a breath. “Then you should go.”
“Brandita, I really think you should go to the cops,” she said, unmoving. “They can help you.”
“That’s what I plan on doing, but you probably shouldn’t be here when I do,” she said, a slight edge to her voice.
“Why not?”
“Because I might have to leave after. Because it they know I got you involved they might want you to go too?”

“If we just get rid of him, it won’t stop. You’ll never be safe. None of us will.”
“And they will make me go away, Mollie.”
Mollie looked down and then over at the body. “I thought you said it was over.”
She sighed and rubbed her face. “I thought it was over.”

“They have to know you’re in danger, Dita. What if this guy wasn’t alone? They’ll know when he disappears.”
“They already said there was a chance,” she sighed. “That’s why I went away for the day.”

Mollie turned up just a few minutes after her last message, after deleting some of the text history between them and between her and Bryce. She knocked on Dita’s door, concerned and afraid of what she’d find on the other side.
She got up and made her way to the door, sighing as she was peered through the peephole. She unlocked the door and bit her lip as she opened up the door. “Hi.”
“Hi,” she replied, heading inside. “What’s… going on?”
She closed and locked the door behind her. “I got home and got jumped,” she sighed. “He’s in my kitchen.”
“You— who is he?”
“He’s …. someone from then.”
“You have to call someone,” she said after a moment. “Your… isn’t there someone… a contact, or— a cop?”
“Yeah, and if I call them, they’ll make me leave and probably never come back this time,” she said grimly.
