It had been weeks now of you staying in inns, of waking even before the sun was totally up and locking yourself with no company in a wheelcar until it was too late at night to keep traveling. But when you woke up in the early morning to reunite with your footman, and knight they had told you that today was your last day traveling, finally. You weren't the only one suffering for sure and even if both the footman and the guard were more used to it than you and Morganite it was sure something exhausting, you had to do your own hair, what a nightmare, you never really reached the back. Also you were sure every inn keeper wanted to kill you for bringing a dragon with you, that was offensive for your baby, she was a delightful Lady too.
The carriage was still on the move when you woke up, the morning light snickering through the window and the sound of clacking horses in your ears as you sat straight to be more comfortable. From the inside of the chariot, blue curtains, white blankets and your blue dress filled the place, everything moving around as you continued down the road, rubbing your eyes to wake you up entirely from your recent sleep.Â
You knew your dress wasn't the most comfortable to travel in, adjusting it the moment you woke up to be decent again, but your aunt had said that you had to give a good first impression, spending your last fortnight in the Vale getting you new gowns, shoes and jewelry. She had also forced you to rehearse introductions like you used to do before any diplomatic visit to any other great house in the realm. You had gone through rules of: how to talk, where to stand, who to be comfortable with, and now all woken up, you reached for your water container and started to repeat them all again.Â
"You call the Princess, Princess, unless..."
"She gives me permission to be informal with her" you remember how your aunt nodded as she stood in your chambers.
You count with your fingers like you did back then, standing still in your apartments as one of the maids took your measurements for new gowns. Now, you also reach for a piece of the wrapped up bread they had given you for the journey, eating some of it.Â
"They say the first three Princes are bastards but we... Don't care, because it's Rhaenyra's blood and that's our family" you whisper to yourself now, chewing and tasting the sweet flavor of the dough â. You smile to the queen and her children and if she doesn't smile back, you keep smiling anyways..."
For a good moment, you thought that this turned out to be a good idea, since you had stopped dreaming as you traveled and your dragon, flying as she followed, seemed to be very happy. You decided to move the curtains over to watch the surroundings, the breeze that entered through the little spaces in the windows made you feel calm, and the little bumps in the road felt more of a welcoming sign than a bother, letting you eat in peace.
â⌠You thank the king, bow for five times and talk about Morganite and how your sure sheâll be comfortable, show youâre as valuable as themâÂ
And so, you kept eating and repeating the introductions, practicing smiles until you were sure you had gone through all the rules and reminders and that you wouldnât forget any of them.
Soon, the bread was over and some time later, the morning breeze turned into an afternoon one and the doors of the city appeared in front of you, and with that, the smell of it. A mix of rotten meat, sweat and shit came over you.
"Gods be good" you said to yourself, a hand quickly holding your nose, as the other clenched your dress.
For a moment you watched the small folk go on about their day like it was the most normal thing ever until you decided to close the curtains to try and repent the smell and to not let them see you gagging, you could only think that they were used to it but since you werenât you didnât want to seem rude. You wished you could behave so you could watch the city as you passed through, but it was almost impossible.
Your nose had started to get used to the stink when the carriage stopped, you had arrived to the Red Keep. The tiny door opened to see the knight your aunt had sent with you, Ser Meryas wasn't a man of many words, he had no hair, dark skin, green eyes and a big intimidating beard, and he looked just as disgusted as you.
"Is the odor normal, Ser?" you asked, he just looked at you and nodded.
"I'll recommend getting use to it, my Lady" he extended his hand at you so you could step down.
"Is Morganite safe in the dragon pit?"
"I made sure of that my Lady"
You stepped down imagining you would see the whole family at your arrival as it was costum. You set your shoulders straight and did the practiced smile you always wore when it came to these meetings, Ser Meryas grabbed your hand to let you down of the car and as you stood foot on the floor, you realized there were missing people in the picture, like Princess Rhaenyra and her family alongside King Viserys, and pretty much everyone but the hand you suppose because of the golden sigil on his chest, the Queen and her two sons, a medium height man who looked pale and frigid âyou suppose that's Aegon because he has both eyesâ , a tall boy with a patch in his left eye â clearly Aemondâ , and her daughter, a silver haired girl who toyed with her green gown âthat should be Halaena, her only girlâ .
The Queen looked terribly irritated, it might have been the smell, the heat or else, but you had the feeling your presence had something to do about it too, maybe she didn't like being a host, something weird for a Queen but everyone was different alas. The hand looked as every hand should, straight and right, and the Princes and Princess were just there.
"Lady Y/N, what a pleasure it is to have you here with us." why would the hand talk before the Queen? isn't that rude?
Didn't matter, you smiled.
"It is a pleasure to be here, Lord hand, my Queen" the Queen gave you her best smile, that's for sure, then you turned to her kids ", Princes, Princess, grateful to be meeting you."
The princess Halaena gave you an honest smile, she looked quite innocent, dreamy eyes and all, as you turned to the Prince Aegon you discovered the other reason why the Queen seemed so agitated, the man turned around quickly not being given the opportunity to move a lot and ended up throwing up in his grandsires shoes, adding another smell to the occasion.
You turned to the Queen and kept your smile, fidgeting with your rings to avoid what just happened while she changed her entire demeanor, suddenly way more educated than before, more vulnerable and almost nervous.
"I apologize for my son, Lady Y/N" the maids quickly arrived and some guards took Prince Aegon by his shoulders, helping him walk to perhaps, his chambers, you just kept smiling ", breakfast must have done him wrong."
"Sickness affects everyone your Grace, do not fret" awkward silence filled the place again, as if it wasn't enough "... It was quite the calm journey, beautiful views." Princess Halaena just nodded, and Prince Aemond kept on being just there, judging you with his single eye as he had done before with his own brother.
"Great, well I apologize in the name of the King, he was not able to leave his bed chambers today, as he wasn't feeling himself." she didn't say a word about Princess Rhaenyra's absence nor her family's and it felt as if she wouldn't have responded either if you had asked her.
"I´ll have an audience of my own with the King later if he's feeling better then" you had spent your rings at least 20 times in the meantime ", will it be a maid or a guard who would take me to my chambers?" the Queen was most grateful to end the exchange and turn to a maid behind her.
"Please" that was all she had to say.
You bowed your goodbyes and as you walked behind the maid that was supposed to show you the way you wondered if you were an inconvenience for the whole family, perhaps that was the reason they didn't showed up, to show you that your arrival truly didn't matter at all.
Elinda was never one to run, that was an improper trait, something that everyone knew would look terrible in a Lady, but keeping quiet about the recent events was worse, it was treason to her Princess, so she ran. She didn't wait to be announced, didn't say her courtesies and she didn't care about proper words either.
"The Lady arrived, Princess, she just arrived and you weren't there" it was a miracle the whole family had reunited for a meal.
Rhaenyra stood immediately and Jacaerys, always the protector, followed his mother's steps. Daemon kept himself in the chair, a lifted eyebrow, turning his head to see the women.
"Today? Not possible, the letter of her arrival never went through me..." she quickly realized her awful mistake, trusting the message would get to her easily, she pinched the bridge of her nose "Where is she now?"
"On her way to her chambers Princess, perhaps you could catch her on the halls"
Everyone on the table started to stand up: Daemon, Lucerys, Rhaena and little Joffrey who was just imitating his family.
"A blue gown my princess, silver hair and it's in a half up"
"Joffrey run" she demanded to her little one.
The prince of just ten of age did not hesitate with his mother's orders, pushing his brother Lucerys off the way and splinting through the room to find this mysterious Lady her mother has been talking about for many nights without end, everyone following from behind in their own pace.
He knew the way like the palm of his hand, the boy remembering how his mother had forced everyone she saw to help with the redecoration of the space, adding new curtains, a new bed frame, "oh, perhaps she would enjoy nice new pillows" he remembered she had said one day as they were walking towards the gardens, changing their plans for the evening.
He ran through the hallways passing rooms and people, feeling his feet getting tired and sweat on his forehead when he finally saw you, a tray of silver hair, a knight following you and Queen Alicent's maid walking down the hall, he could only scream.
"MY LADY! MY LADY WAIT!" you turned around immediately, the sound of his high pitched voice startling you "MOMMY I FOUND HER!"
You caught a glimpse of dark curls running to you the moment you stopped, his hands flying through the air to alert you of his arrival and his little feet often trying to keep him up.
"My lady, I'm prince Joffrey Velaryon, my mother and family are on their way please do not leave." he sounded deeply tired that you were not surprised his next movement would be throwing himself on the floor, a smile on his face.
"My prince" you got close to him in a hurry, checking over ", do you find yourself okay?" he nodded.
Sounds of many feet interrupted your questioning, and as you lifted your head, you swore you saw a ghost.
You were prepared for this, this was the reason you decided to come for: to find your family, to be with them, to actually know, and yet, it came almost as a surprise how much you could see of your own mother in the Princess, you couldn't even find the words to introduce yourself and maybe it really was rude of you but you forgot everyone else to pay deeply attention on the way you could, for a moment, remember your mother's whole face.
"Lady Y/N, I deeply apologize for the late arrival, there were some misunderstandings and... I'm deeply sorry." after she stopped, Rhaenyra also got a good look at you.
You're young, of course, and she has known about you for a long time but she was so busy, she had been so stressed, and now, in front of you, oh how she missed you, or at least the features that adorned you, like the way your nose was too much like her mother's, or how the blue in your dress fitted you the way it fitted her.
"Princess, don't even worry, I... Well thank you for finding me." she took one step towards you and then a lot more others to find you in a hug.
And she smelled not like the city, thank the Gods. You imitated her, placing your head on her shoulder for a second before you both pulled away, her hands were as soft as her smile and her eyes who scanned you were too much like the one's you used too look at before going to bed.
"It is amazing to have you here, cousin. Please, let me introduce you to my family" she let you go and you could only follow with your eyes, your words snatched from your mouth.
Prince Daemon was first, his daughter: princess Rhaena after as she was next to him, then came prince Lucerys, then the one you already knew: little prince Joffrey, and her eldest for last: Jacaerys, who examined you from head to toe, gentler than prince Aemond and far more curious than him, he was a sight.
The prince seemed to carry himself with strict rules and you could easily see why the rumors followed him so easily as you admired his dark curls falling perfectly on his shoulders, but that was it. He looked every bit of his mother's son and how the perfect heir of an heir is supposed to look like: severe, serious, smart, the perfect prince, the perfect son and... He just looked like it, you quickly turned to everyone else.
"I also have Aegon and Viserys, they're on the nursery as of now, and Daemon has another daughter: Baela, she's Rhaena's twin but she lives on Driftmark with Princess Rhaenys"
His mother kept talking and Jacaerys was doubtful âeven paranoidâ about your arrival, about what had brought you here with them and why, after so many years of never knowing about you and you perhaps not caring at all about them. But he had the right to, right? What assured him that you weren't there trying to question his mother's claim like everyone else does? and what about his own? Maybe the true problem was that you didn't look as scheming as he thought you would, and that he truly never talked to a lady that wasn't his own sisters.
He watches you carefully, just like he does everything else, he sees how you have the same stress habit as his mom: your fingers fidgeting with your rings, how your eyes often turn to Rhaenyra, then at your sides, and sometimes him and his siblings. How your face falls, how you scrunch your nose often and the little circles beneath your eyes that make you seem awfully tired, and of course, he was still a bit suspicious about your sudden appearance but that didnât meant you had to keep standing.
âMotherâ everyone turned to him â, i bet the Lady is tired, we should let her rest.â
Prince Daemon held his wife by the shoulders then turned to look at you with a crooked smile, a funny one that softened but stayed put.
"I know you're happy but the kid is right, let's lead her to her chambers and maybe she would like some tea or cider later." Rhaenyra sighed, her hands from her skirts to touch your hair.
"Yes, of course, I apologize again for..."
"No, it's all okay, I do wish to rest but it was no inconvenience."
"I'll take you" you soon realized that the maid had left some time ago and the only one waiting for you was Ser Meryas, standing as he should.
You bowed out of respect to the rest and Daemon took them by the shoulders to leave you alone with Rhaenyra, whispering something in Prince Jacaery's ear before he decided to turn around and follow his step father.
As they left, Rhaenyra held a hand in your back, softly leading you through the rest of the missing halls, you noticed that inside the Red Keep it didn't smell like all those horrid combinations, you walked smelling scented candle wax and even when the air moved your hair it felt fresher from the top, you didn't think much of it because it was obvious, this was the home of the king and his children, no one would let them smell the dirty air of the city.
"I've said this many times but I don't think they are enough" Rhaenyra spoke with a calm pace, always so distinctive ", but I am happy you're here, I cannot believe I have lost time to know you"
You smiled, trying to hide your embarrassed face, "I have been failing to know you too, Princess."
"Cousin it is, that's what we are."
The journey didn't take much after that, there were more rooms around you and a castle balcony near where you could perfectly see Blackwater bay, what a beautiful place they had given you for sure.
"I took my time to decorate the room, I hope it's to your liking, the only one who was a helping hand was Princess Rhaena, she's your age and knows more about a young Lady's fashion than I do."
And when the doors opened you were sure Princess Rhaena had such a fine taste, curtains with golden embroidery decorated two big windows like the one's you had back in the Eyrie, a carved bed frame from what you supposed was mahogany with dragons on it decorated with a beautiful light blue canopy, a wholesome vanity and chair with the same wood that the bed was made of, a big space with a big cupboard and a marble table in the middle of it, "to break your fast" Rhaenyra had said.
"This is such a wonderful place P-cousin, thank you." Rhaenyra enjoyed watching your pleased face as you captured everything in sight.
"It is yours to enjoy, I should let you lie now"
"Well uh, what about the King? I haven't gotten a chance to say hello to him, the Queen said he was sick." you asked before Rhaenyra left, she turned with a curious look but did not ask.
"I'll have someone bring you to him later, I bet he's asleep" she said, grabbing your hands in between her own ". You like gardens right?" and you nodded, she then smiled.
"Wonderful, we will be taking tea later, or wine if you prefer so, I'll make a welcome picnic just for you after your visit with the King."
"Oh, you don't have to..."
"Oh, but I will, so get yourself comfortable."
And she left. Looking around you wondered what type of thing you could do now, there were still boxes with your personal stuff around the room so you could use your time making everything to your liking, you could sleep again, or read something, what about start an embroidery? You thought two times before heading for a quill, ink and a parchment and sitting in the vanity, finding it way more comfortable than it looked.
I know it has been not long at all but I write to you because it's an emergency and I have to take care of it, I hope this letter finds you soon enough to not make my suffering too long.
Please send as fast as you can all the Dornish scented oils, perfumes and candle's I left behind because I thought I wouldn't need them, I was wrong and I know you told me so but I do not care about my pride at all right now, I need them.
Princess Rhaenyra is very kind and my room is up to my expectations, I hope you're doing just fine, missing you.
With love: your sweet niece, Y/N.
You folded the paper and took the wax to heat in one of the candles near the table, you had to change the sigil in which you sealed your letters now, it had to change from a blue to a red, from an eagle to the three headed dragon, but that was for tomorrow you had no time to lose right now, it was something urgent.
And then you wondered, where in the seven hells could you sent this raven, had yours arrived yet? because you were always a very busy woman. You turned to look at the full body mirror on the side, will Morganite be okay? she had never hunted her own food, will they make her do that here? She doesn't like it.
You left the letter in the table and turned to the bed, throwing yourself in it which was an amazing choice, the mattress was every persons dream and if you ever felt like exaggerating, throwing yourself in it would be a wonderful experience. You closed your eyes but nothing happened, you didn't fall asleep, so you decided it was time to open them again, tracing the canopy and its careful details with your eyes as the hours passed and the sun moved behind the windows.
You wondered what your friends back in the Vale are doing now, Adrianne is probably out watching the sheep while Ellya giggles and spins her hair to the sheep boy, you would've been there with Morganite too, watching them from the skies, would they let you fly often like you did? You also thought about your aunt and how is she managing things now, its not like your irreplaceable, but you were very good at your job supporting her. How will it be working with Rhaenyra? is the job of the heir to the iron throne heavier? she seems so calm. And what about Prince Daemon? he didnt seem too bloody but that's something you can find out later, oh and you should thank Princess Rhaena for her input, this was a beautiful place... ugh, you were starting to get hungry. Oh and Ser Meryas, he said something to your aunt about how he had to report himself to the Kings guard after being sure you were safe in your apartments so he probably was doing that, what about Rhaenyra's kids? what if they hate you? Should you write to princess Rhaenys because...
A knock on the door. You sat up quickly and soon realized that it was time for the meeting you were going to have with the king, a maid or a guard, maybe Ser Meryas, were to take you, you stood up looking at yourself in the mirror, brushing out the imperfections of your dress and hair, grabbing the letter you just wrote in the way. Another knock sounded as you walked to the door now.
You opened the door with a smile that vanished from the surprise of the one requesting you, Prince Jacaerys had a fist up to knock on your door again, putting it down immediately when he saw you standing in front of him.
"My mother said I should take you to the King and then to the gardens." he sounded so sure of himself, It was an interesting thing, he was just going to guide you.
"Of course my prince, I'll follow"
The walk was uncomfortable since it started, he eyed you from time to time to make sure you were still there and you turned your head everywhere but him to avoid an unnecessary eye contact or any contact at all, you sense he was still on guard and he could sense you were off, finding the place completely new and confusing, truly you both were just scared of each other, like one was about to murder the other.
You held the letter in your hands, trying to think in a way of folding it without mistreating it or making it not possible to send, Jacaerys saw you, he thought once, then twice and then opened his mouth.
"Would you like me to guard it in my pockets?" you nodded without saying a word, handing it to him.
"Thank you." you said after the paper was well hidden in his gears.
This was an awful idea from his mother, she should've sent someone else, anyone, she can say a word and people will follow, but she sent him, because: he had to grow close to her, they were going to see each other everyday, they would be working together in the same spaces, you as a pupil, him as his mother's heir, but it was weird, he barely knew your name. He wished he had something to say, something that could rule out all of the weird feelings he had when someone new arrives, he wished he had listened to Rhaena last night when she was talking to Lucerys about the next festivities, and he wished he had talked to other ladies before because why was he so nervous?
Thankfully the King's solar wasn't that far, just a few stairs to get there. The door was guarded with at least five guards and one, you noticed, who looked funny at Jacaerys, like he knew better... That's so rude, you thought, you just rolled your eyes.
"The Queen is here" he told you ", that's her swore protector."
You felt like he was just letting you know, just in case, like he wouldn't judge you if you changed your plans, but you didn't really see the problem in the matter, you shrugged your shoulders "Im okay, will you go in too?"
"I have to." he still had that tone, the one you were about to use to talk to the King, but to him it came out easily, he was used to it.
He asked the guards to announce you both, opening the doors for you to see the Queen, helping the King to stand up right next to his bed, and the voice of the announcer was quickly a blur when you got the chance to see him. Your aunt had told you he was getting sicker by the minute, the maester in the Vale had told you, in confidence, that there wasn't much to do than poppy milk and bandages, but you really never imagined that the good King Viserys, was truly in that stage, like... Rotten, you had never seen such thing.
The room smelt like ink, herbs and any medicine the maesters were sure using on him earlier, the air was tense and it seemed like his flaky skin shined thanks to the sun who was lighting the place, letting you have a full view of him sending shivers down your spine and giving you just a slight headache. He flashed a smile at both of you as you walked into the room.
"What a wonderful thing it is, don't you think Alicent? my niece, I can finally see you." his voice sounded raspy and he had to grab himself tight to the Queen's hand, and she seemed, just like before.
The sight of him made you forget for a minute what you were supposed to say and more, but you quickly shrugged it off, smiling and bowing for five times like you were supposed to, coming back gracefully and slowly, you were sure the Septa you had as a girl would've been so proud.
"My King, its such an honor that you received me in your home." Jacaerys, always watchful, walked behind you, whispering.
"Get close." he said, before doing that himself.
"My grandson." the fingers of the King left his wife to touch Jacaerys, you wondered how that would feel, they were almost peeled off.
You got close, never faltering nor slowing down, the Queen looked at your every step and avoided the Prince like the plague, you know Jacaerys would notice, who wouldn't?
"How did you find the place? I was told my daughter turned everything upside down just for you" I smiled at him and nodded, my hands in my back ". Did you lik the place where I accommodated you? I thought a sight from Blackwater bay wouldn't make you miss the Vale so much."
You felt pity, was that possible?, to feel pity for a King? "It was beautiful, thank you, truly."
And then, he touched your hand, and it felt like you were touching the scales of a dragon and the feet of a joust knight at the same time, you didn't flinch but you truly wanted to.
"I'm glad, did my family receive you well?" the stare of the Queen and Jacaerys was now burning your back.
"Yes, of course" you said, quickly ", it was wonderful to meet them all, though, I'm missing the babes I think."
"My mother has planned a picnic for her arrival" Jacaerys interrupted fast ", in the gardens so she can meet them... If you want to join us grandsire... Queen."
Alicent moved her head and touched her husbands shoulder pretty careful, the smile was forced but she was probably doing that on purpose because she looked off "No, thank you, the King has to rest and I've got to take care of him."
You wanted the floor to suck you out immediately.
"Yes, I apologize but I do feel oddly tired this evening."
"Of course, we can always have a picnic with you another day, my King" he smiled, letting you go slowly.
It looked like it hurt moving, or touching or doing anything, his breathing too constant, needing to pause his words or actions to have it.
"You have become a beautiful Lady, see, I was surprised to know the Lady Arryn hasn't found you a match already" the King smiled, but this was a truly uncomfortable topic for you ", and with how much you resemble your late mother, I´d assume you have suitors for years."
"Ah well, I'm just... Truly not interested as of now, perhaps I could find someone here." that was a lie, you didn't want to do that, but it was always the easy way out.
"I have never met a Lady who was, just not interested" Queen Alicent let a huff out ", but I think, you do things different in the Vale."
You wanted the floor to suck you out immediately.
"We're going to be late for the picnic, grandsire." Jacaerys lifted his voice again, making you nodd quickly.
"Yes, I wouldn't want to make the princess wait." Viserys laughed and extended his hand to the door.
"Go children, thank you for making the time to come and see me." you bowed again, five times like you should, smiled to the Queen and rushed to the door.
You both walked almost stumping the floor to get away from the door as soon as possible and Jacaerys understood that he wouldn't be standing any other uncomfortable conversations, he stopped, he stopped you and stopped a maid who was walking over there, getting your letter out of his pockets.
"Can you please send this to?" he looked at you.
"The Vale, please?" you answered, the maid nodding.
"Of course my Prince, my Lady" she took it in her fingers and rushed to another place.
You booth stood there, you noticed that of course, here there was a way more flow of maids and people to attend the King, and the air smelt way more pure.
"It's hard for me to see him like that and I live here, it must've been harder for you." he was trying to break the ice, that voice he seems to always be using getting softer.
"I... I'm not lying, it sure was" you started walking again, slower than before ", do you feel well though?"
"I'm used to it already" you hummed in understanding ". How are you finding the keep? is it too different from the Eyrie?"
"Yes, I think every castle is unique in its own way and the Red Keep surely is, you do have um, good... views?" you truly wanted to say something good about it, but you had been busy concentrating in other stuff, at least, that made him giggle.
And it sounded endearing, it made you giggle too.
"So it is too different."
"And the city? I'm sure you had time to see it on your way to the keep." you held your dress as you came down the stairs, you turned to look at him, shrugging your shoulders.
"Oh, you have an opinion."
"It's not proper for a Lady to say such things, not when it's the home of your guests."
"It can't be that bad." Jacaerys turned to look at you, a big smile on his face.
You reached the bottom of the stairs, tired of the banter and worried that your comment would make your little interaction uncomfortable again, but he was insisting and insisting, so you turned to him.
"The city smells like shit..." you whispered.
It was safe to say that he only had heard curse words from his stepfather and his mother, sometimes some of the Lords from the council and that awful time he heard Aegon talk about his outings to the street of the silk, he was sure shocked, but the word sounded so funny on you that he had started laughing, making you blush from embarrassment.
The service and people passing by had stopped to look at you both before continuing with their own duties, you lifted your arms, trying to calm him down or do something else that hadn't occurred to you.
"I'm sorry" you whispered again, but he kept laughing.
"No, no don't apologize" he said, trying to calm himself down.
"It was funny, my Lady" you turned to continue walking ". Do a lot of people smell like shit?" he asked you, teasingly, you try to hide your smile but it was impossible.
"I dare to say some smell like puke." you crunched your nose, he noticed that again, him?
"Uh, like who?" your eyes searched his and then turned to your sides.
"Excuse me?" he covered his mouth this time.
"He threw up this afternoon, when they received me in the castle gates."
Jacaerys laughed but stopped immediately "I apologize my Lady, im sure that was..."
"It was gross, pretty uncomfortable but now that im not standing there, I will say, it was funny." you chuckled, turning to him.
"He must've been drinking, he does that a lot" you hummed "... We never got the letter of your arrival, that's why we were late."
"So, um, the odd interactions are normal here, I suppose."
"They are my Lady." you chuckled again.
"Am I going to see him throw up again?" he smiled.
"Ugh, I hope my aunt sends me my perfumes soon enough." you said, shrugging your shoulders.
"May I ask if that was, what the letter was about?"
And you both laughed again, you found yourself quite fascinated with him and the type of friendship you and the Prince could build in the future.
The gardens was such a lovely place, and you noticed since you arrived, the smell being sweet thanks to all the types of flowers blooming and the pastries Rhaenyra had the kitchens make just for you, beautiful pillows, blankets, chairs and tables decorating the place.
"Wonderful" the Princess smiled at your arrival, getting closer to you ", I ordered everything just because i didn't ask you about your favorite dessert."
"Thank you... Cousin." and she smiled.
Her family was there sitting, the kinds playing, Princess Rhaena and Prince Lucerys chatting while Prince Daemon served himself some wine, it was a lovely thing to see. Despite everything today, you thought that perhaps everything was for the better and that you could make the most of it, if your family loved you so, then you were sure your stay would be easy and that your aunt had been exaggerating, just like you.
