this is why I loved the netflix documentary so much. they showed just how disturbed he was and how he was awkward and painfully average in all aspects of his life, and that the only reason he got away with as much as he did was because the technology back then couldn’t detect all of the things it can now. like for fucks sake, he would escape and then get caught again because of MINOR TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS come on man if you’re an escaped convict at least make sure you don’t make any illegal u-turns the fuck?? he was a clever narcissist who knew how to get away with shit when he wanted to, but was dumb enough to let his arrogance sabotage every chance at freedom he got. not to mention the obvious fact that he was just a sick and twisted human being, of course.
