Invisigal locker room scene irks me so bad. The writers most definitely did not write that scene with the care that it was sexual assault and I genuinely believed that if they DID, it wouldn’t have been added. I don’t see it as part of her character at all because of it. It’s like an error that goes beyond how she’s written because it’s rooted in the writers weird thing regarding Robert being violated and him not caring. To me this and the scene with Malevola simply do not exist.

I also think Invisigal doesn’t need to be like, 18, for her to have the faults and character arc she has in both of her routes. She’s a grown adult whose self perception depends greatly on how other people see and treat her, shes self deprecating, blah blah blah, like, adults can Also Suck. I do not think making her a child would’ve improved the story, but admittedly mostly because I despise the idea of turning a woman into a child bc of like the lack of care given to the unhighlighted and probably unintentional story point of her being emotionally codependent as fuck with robert.

Dispatch is really bad at handling harassment like fundamentally bad. I think it’s meant to ground itself further into like, online locker-room adult “I say fuck and bitch a lot” humor, which it does, but that humor sucks. Mostly because of the sexual harassment. Malevola grabbing Robert’s crotch just cause is sexual harassment and their relationship is not portrayed or built to be something where it can be perceived as, like, a woman smacking her friends ass and both of them being in on the joke. We kind of just have to Assume it is. I’m not against the portrayal of sexual assault in media but for dispatch to portray it in such a way, treating it as normal and funny, makes me worry for the young people viewing the game, who now have another piece of media portraying assault as something to be light hearted about as long as it’s Funny. I worry even more about like the grown adults who play and watch it and think calling it assault is like, somehow over dramatic.

I truly cannot tell if people think invisigal sucks because of solely how she’s written or if it’s mainly because she’s a woman and also how she’s written
