Place of Residence: A cheap one bedroom apartment on the 10th floor of an older building in downtown Astoria
Are they affiliated with any group? Law Enforcement
How they became affiliated with the group: After the death of his family and his brotherās sudden absence, he decided to keep going with what has been his fatherās career as well and join the police. Graduating school with excellent grades, a good physical condition and his ability to stay calm and calculating during an emergency helped him meet all the requirements needed to join the force and eventually make it to the rank of a detective.
He had also made sure that everyone believed he would be an excellent choice as detective because his decision to walk this path was not purely made out of a wish to serve the community. Even years past the traumatic event, Sasuke is set on figuring out what exactly had happened all those years ago and where his brother had vanished to.
Personality:
Distrusting Ever since the death of his entire family, he has been extremely cautious on whom he is giving his trust. While he can and will delegate assignments on his job, his colleagues barely know anything about his personal life. Most of the time he has an air of ānone of your businessā about him.
Calculating An intelligent mind and a wary predisposition tend to make him observe and think first rather than run into a situation blindly. He pays attention to his surroundings, to peopleās behaviors and stores the information away carefully to be used when needed.
Harsh While he is not crude, Sasuke is no one to mollycoddle people. Itās not hard to figure out where he draws a line, he might even point it out, so when it gets crossed, he will not respond in kind and expect people to accept the consequences. Some say heās an asshole due to this, however, he thinks not.
Fair With all the harshness also comes a very strong stand on fairness. He rarely, if at all plays favors and his judgment is not based on personal likes. He expects everyone to accept consequences of their own actions, even himself. So he has no qualms about calling out even a friend, if that friend behaves like an idiot. He will also accept the consequences of whatever will happen if people find out he might stick his nose into things they donāt want him to.
Kind Not many people that know him would probably call him kind, Sasuke is no one to participate in charity events if he can help it, nor give money to any beggars. On the contrary, he thinks charity events are just a sick ploy of the rich to pretend to be good people, probably spending as much money to organize their self-glorifying, image polishing party as they donate. And you never know which beggar is truly needing the money and which one is just part of an organization that is trying to make money out of gullible people. The kindness he does show is the fact that despite his job, he would never injure or hurt anyone more than absolutely necessary and despises police cruelty and corruption. And he has been seen giving a starved looking beggar not money, but some of his food.
Biography: Sasuke was born as second son to Fugaku and Mikoto Uchiha, a former chief in the police force and a woman who had also worked at the police department as secretary until she gave birth to her children and stayed home. He canāt recollect most of his early childhood, only remembering bits and pieces and sometimes mere ideas.
He knows the family had been fairly closely knit, not only the four of the immediate family, but also his uncles and aunts, his grandparents and cousins. They used to be around a lot, living not too far away. The person he remembers most is his brother and it seems that he was also the one Sasuke felt closest to as the memories give him a strong feeling of longing, closely followed by the ones of his mother. Fatherās memories were the rarest, usually of the man looking stern, sometimes almost disappointed and they were often accompanied by a feeling of determination, mixed with slight anxiety. The rest of the family wasnāt much more than ideas, occasional names or faces he could put together, but no story to attach.
He also knows that they werenāt poor, remembering a clean house and warmth. Research puts his old address into an area with housing for people that can live comfortably, yet not quite get all the luxuries of the rich, as would be expected from a man in his fatherās former position; and his bank account with the inheritance on it agrees.
He was six years old when everything gets very jumbled. There had been an illness that had managed to infect all of his family members and he had been told that he himself was critically ill for a few days as well, most likely the reason why his memory was so hazy, his fever had simply been too high. There had been only two survivors in the end, Sasuke for one and his older brother Itachi. There was a clean memory of Itachi laying in what seemed to be a hospital room in the bed next to his. Sometimes he would sit at the edge of it and smile ā a sad smile, talking and gesturing to food that seemed to sit on a tray in front of Sasukeās bed, food that did not seem very appetizing at the time. So Itachi was probably trying to get him to eat.
But thereās no memory whatsoever of Itachi after he was discharged from the hospital. A time Sasukeās memory though seemed to pick up a normal pace again. He had been moved to a small flat and for a few years there was someone ā not always the same person though ā checking in with him twice a day helping with meals and basic needs, eventually dwindling down to once a day when he got older, then every other day, twice a week, once a week and finally, he was left with a number to call if he needed help. Other than that, he would simply get a weekly allowance on a card he could use until he reached the legal age and the rights on his inherited money (or what was left) would be transferred to him completely.
Thanks to the Uchiha family having had a long term and solid investment in OmniTron as their insurance, they had granted him to keep his first class health insurance rights with constantly available medical help of the highest standards no matter the hour and a free yearly medical check-up.
Going through his school years, Sasuke had never been a very social child, preferring to work alone and work diligently, thus always receiving excellent grades, even praise from his teachers, not that he cared that much about the latter. He went on to educate himself well, and took care of his body by exercising regularly and eating healthily, he learned to defend himself as well for further independence. His goal: find Itachi and fill in the missing memories as well as find out more about his family and how it was possible for all of them to die from the same illness, while it did not seem that there was any epidemic of some sort that had a great impact on the whole population. (No newspaper articles or reports.)
He also wanted to know what Sharingan was. A word he remembered, but couldnāt put a single link to. Well, maybe a hunch. Perhaps it was connected to his odd ability of not exactly seeing more than his peers, but being able to make more of what he saw? It had surfaced at school first, when he figured out how to read what other people wrote by following the movements of the tip of a pen and recognizing a pattern. In his self-defense training, when he started to copy effective split second movements that his opponents used during sparring without further help. And once he had advanced enough in his police training for traffic duty, where he could get a license plate number off a car way past the speed limit. Most of it seemed to be great entertainment to others or an incentive to be snotty towards him, caused by envy. Some would also tell him he was plain crazy for saying that there were odd TV advertisements that had blinks of certain images set into them.
These days he tends to not mention any of that at all. Nor had he ever really told his doctor during the check-ups.
While attending the basic police training, he had also taken classes in criminal justice, receiving a degree by the age of 21 and with it, advancing to the rank of a detective soon after.
Sasuke was spending most of his time at work ever since he finally got his promotion, he already had a good record of closed files for that short amount of time. Critique he was receiving went mostly to his rather poor ability of partnering up with other detectives, not communicating well enough, apparently. He would always calmly respond that he was not withholding any information on the case and answering questions about his private life and chatting, was not exactly part of the case.
Moral Alignment: As a police officer he does stand on the side of the law and has a strong sense for fairness and justice. However, heās also very realistic and he knows life is not a fairy tale (or rather, it is; one of the gruesome cruel tales that is not as much happily ever after as people believe, while closing their eyes to all the bad that has happened and may still be going on to pay reverie to the princess and the prince). He doesnāt care that much about petty crimes or prostitution and gambling where people get into problems due to their own decisions. But he is essentially working to keep the violence and cruelty at bay, not dealing either of those himself if avoidable, but neither will he yield if heās confronted with it.
There is one situation however where his whole moral is teetering on the edge of flying out the window completely and his usual filters and restrictions seem to wane or even vanish: the death of his family and the whereabouts of his brother. Outwards he may look like he has control and he is over the traumatic event. But for a solid lead, he most likely would use force or illegal methods to find out more, at least if that would be the most beneficial way to reach the information.
