Life as we know it

There are two kinds of love: we love wise and kind and beautiful people because we need them, but we love (or try to love) stupid and disagreeable people because they need us. This second kind is the more divine because that is how God loves us: not because we are lovable but because He is love, not because He needs to receive but He delights to give.

Sometimes the comforting words we say to other people are exactly the things we want to hear.

Falling love in love with another human Is beautiful and terrifying at the same time. Giving one person the ability to break your heart with a few words or actions. Letting them see the darkness you try so hard to hide from the rest of the world. They could become your best friend, or your worst enemy. Yet you become a slave to your own heart and you make them a part of your Daily routine. Suddenly you know everything about them, from their favorite thing to eat and their favorite songs to listen to, to what they dream about at night. Sometimes we hurt them, and sometimes they hurt us. But at the end of the day there’s nobody else we would rather fall asleep next to, not knowing if we will get to wake up to them the next day.

We’re living in a time where people are in love and never tell each other and when they hate each other it is common knowledge, where loyalty is in extinction and being dishonest is on the rise, where people are happy and make others miserable, where people are depressed and make others have fun. We’re living upside down, are you going to do something to turn that around?
