One day my very own saber will come to claim its pound of flesh

When it’s done, there won’t be anything left🎵

It’s such an overwhelming feeling, having his hands trail up your side like a priest leads prayer. His fingers wind hymns into your skin, mapping every verse with his teeth and tongue, muttering sacrilegious words against hands that have seen and made war.

You utter his name, the gasp a whisper of wind in the now-empty chapel — all save for you two.

His lips rise to chase it, another prayer (your name) slipping past his parted lips.

“We can’t do this in a church, Johnny,” you whisper, your father’s teachings fighting against the sin you feel for him. It’s a piss-poor attempt at a warning, to stop now. “What would God say?”

He pushes you back until your knees hit the back of the stand, the imprint of a cross flat against your back. He leans in, lips ghosting over the shell of your ear. “I’d tell him I’m worshipping the only God I believe in. The only one who’d put me on my knees.”
