While the night life always appealed to Ilusion more, that love of dark, grimy, and flashy night life only intensified with his turning. Even if being a vampire meant he could no longer freely walk in the sun, the trade off of living among the tired, the drunk, the lustful, and the indulgent was well worth it. These were his kind of people that he wanted to live with, and feed off of.
That included his maker and the man he devoted his mind, body, and soul to, Okatani.
The two walked together through the city to find their meals for the night. Ilusion couldn’t wander too far from Okatani as Okatani held on to the subtle and thin chain leash. Upon first glance, one might think it was just a necklace where after wrapping around Ilusion’s neck, the extra chain hung down freely. Disappearing under Ilusion’s jacket gave that appearance, but there was enough length left to slip out under the jacket and into Okatani’s hand, stuffed in his own jacket pocket.
That was their relationship though. Not merely maker and fledgling or even boyfriends. Okatani owned Ilusion. It’s what Ilusion wanted after months of meetings in dingy bars, slowly obsessing over him, then given the opportunity for immortality together in exchange for abandoning his human life and creating this deep, possessive bond. Maybe to some they would think this life as degrading, limiting, and downright miserable. Ilusion didn’t feel that way though. If anything, being Okatani’s pet of sorts felt so right. Pleasing him gave him a high like nothing else. At this point, he had no regrets of becoming this “other” being. It was truly the perfect life for him.
That wasn’t to say he was always blindly following Okatani. He stopped him by grabbing onto his shirt as he looked towards a familiar building.
“Hey! It’s the bar we met at. Let’s get a drink there.” Okatani’s face was difficult to read and if one couldn’t pick out the small changes in his facial features, it seemed like he was always bored. Ilusion still had a hard time deciphering his maker’s thoughts and feelings, but he did notice a slight furrowing of his brows.
“You sure?” Okatani quietly asked. Even if the softest whisper, it always pierced through the loudest noises to Ilusion, making any conversations they needed to have easy even in crowds.
“Of course I’m sure! They got the best booze here. We might even find our meals here too.” There was a long pause before Okatani gently nodded his head and let Ilusion drag him inside.
The bar was dark, only lit up by the neon signs on the wall, the decades old jukebox tucked away in the corner, candles aflame in dark red glass holders on each table, and the yellowed lights on the shelves and shelves of liquor that lined the wall behind the bar. It wasn’t really crowded and with most patrons not interested in the song list that hadn’t been updated in 20 plus years, the only sounds in the bar were chatter, billiards crashing together at the pool table, and glasses being filled with their poison of choice.
Ilusion went straight for the bar, hopping up on one of the bar stools and grabbing the bartender’s attention quickly. It had been some time since he stopped by and the bartender chatted with him a bit to catch up. While Ilusion had to be vague, he was able to lie enough to get through the conversation and order his favorite beer just as Okatani finally joined him at the bar.
“I haven’t had a good drink in so long. Plus this place feels kinda nostalgic now.” Okatani glanced around the bar at Ilusion’s comment before giving a small shrug of his shoulders.
“It feels like a bar.” Under the mask, Ilusion pouted at his cold words. He didn’t know how long Okatani had been a vampire. If it had been for a long time, then Okatani’s lack of humanity made sense and maybe Ilusion was still hanging onto things that he no longer needed.
Before Ilusion could overthink it, the bartender slipped him his drink and immediately perked him up. With a quick “thanks”, Ilusion took the glasses and gently sipped on it. Expecting the usual sting of alcohol with the familiar flavors, he quickly set the glass down as what he tasted wasn’t that at all. It looked like the beer he was used to. The same amber color and a bit of foam right at the top like always, but that wasn’t the drink he enjoyed for years.
He called over the bartender to check the drink as it didn’t taste right, not noticing Okatani looking at the drink as if he expected this. The bartender checked it though and couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Ilusion, at a complete loss of how to respond, had to be saved by Okatani.
“He got sick recently and it messed up his sense of taste.” Ilusion turned to Okatani as he covered for him, getting some condolences from the bartender and offered to get a different drink. Okatani declined it on Ilusion’s behalf and said they would drink it and not let it go to waste.
Once they were alone again, Okatani looked at Ilusion, slouched over and tilting his head at the drink in front of him. He sighed at his fledgling looking defeated and betrayed over a drink never meant for them. “So, what does it taste like?”
“… I don’t know. Like… how ash would taste. It tastes like nothing. It just stings. Here, you try it and tell me-”
“It’s gonna taste the same to me.” Okatani could sense Ilusion blinking at him in stunned silence. It wasn’t a problem he anticipated addressing, but Okatani was willing to offer an explanation. “We don’t need this, so why would our bodies want it? We only need blood. Anything else is a waste, so our bodies will make sure we only enjoy what we actually need.”
It made sense considering what they were, but Ilusion still had the sting of losing a small joy in his old human life. He looked back to the drink, sighing at it and tapping the glass lightly with his nails. He wasn’t sure what to do with it now except chug it and move on to find something that tasted good.
In the corner of his eye, he saw Okatani glance towards the other end of the bar. With the flick of his hand, the bartender suddenly dropped a glass and everyone’s attention was focused on the incident and away from them. He soon turned back to Ilusion, fangs flashing for a moment to cut his finger before dipping it in Ilusion’s drink. The amber drink turned more and more of a reddish hue as Okatani stirred the drink with his cut finger. Once he was satisfied with the color, Okatani pulled his finger out, drying it with a napkin, before nodding to Ilusion to drink it.
Carefully, Ilusion picked up the drink and sipped at it again. Instead of the stinging nothingness it was before, the flavors he remembered came back as it hit his tongue. It was much more than that though with the taste of Okatani’s blood mixed in. It reminded him of those first few days as a vampire, feeding off of Okatani when his self-control wasn’t developed enough to roam the streets with him and not put them in danger. As he remembered the lustful aftermath of those moments as well, he moaned as he pulled the glass away for a second. He lifted his mask up enough to expose his mouth so he could drink more freely, chasing after the taste of nostalgia and obsession.
He downed the glass in record time, a mix of a sigh and moan escaping him before pulling his mask back down and setting the glass on the bar. “That was really fucking good. I needed that.”
“Do you need any more?” Ilusion turned to Okatani and immediately clocked the darkened eyes and the hungry look he gave Ilusion. Although it wasn’t Ilusion’s blood that Okatani wanted, but something else only Ilusion could give him. Holding back another moan, Ilusion only nodded before Okatani left some money on the bar for his drink and dragged Ilusion towards bathroom by his wrist.
As they walked inside, even if no one was around, Okatani took him into a stall farthest from the door. Once the door was locked, Okatani pulled up Ilusion’s mask to kiss him deeply, enjoying the taste of the blood spiked alcohol and understanding why it was enough to draw moans from his fledgling. Ilusion caught up in the heated kiss pushed Okatani back against the wall with little resistance. His lips trailed down his neck, tempted to sink his fangs into his flesh and take a deeper drink, but a better idea popped into his head. He merely kissed and gently bit at his neck, teasing a deeper, piercing bite as hands moved under Okatani’s shirt. Okatani tilted his head back against the cold tile, nails digging into Ilusion’s back through his shirt and jacket hard enough that Ilusion could feel the slight sharpness to them.
Ilusion moved his way down onto his knees, eye level at the belt on Okatani’s jeans. With practiced hands, Ilusion undid the belt with the zipper and button, pulling them down enough to expose his thighs. To match how exposed Okatani felt, Okatani reached down and pulled Ilusion’s mask off completely and shoved it into his jacket pocket. A soft blush at his full face being shown appeared across his cheeks, but it didn’t stop him from pressing kisses against Okatani’s inner thigh. Okatani gripped at Ilusion’s hair, biting his bottom lip to keep any loud moans from slipping out and drawing attention to them. The kisses were suspiciously soft considering their situation. Okatani looked down, lips parting to question Ilusion’s intentions, but any words he had disappeared when Ilusion’s fangs sunk deeply into his thigh. A quick, loud cry slipped out from Okatani, forcing him to cover his own mouth with his hand to muffle the sound and the moans that followed. Eyes squeezed shut as Ilusion drank from him and the sting of the bite surged up from his leg combined with the soft hum of Ilusion’s moans against his skin. A trickle of blood trailed down soft skin, a small sign of Ilusion’s inexperience with feeding, but after getting his fill, he licked that trail back up to the bite.
He moved in for a matching on his other leg, but was forced to stop with a choked gasp at the chain necklace being tugged by its implied leash and moving him away from Okatani’s thighs. He looked up at Okatani, both exchanging lustful and needy expressions mixed with Ilusion’s quiet pants, but he knew better. Okatani’s need and lust was very controlled. He only allowed Ilusion to go this far because he wanted it and once he had enough, Ilusion would be reigned in and reminded that Okatani was in charge. As much as he wanted to taste more and mark up his thighs with bites, he waited patiently as painful as that was for Okatani’s order.
Okatani moved his hand away from his mouth as he regained his composure, loosening the tug on his leash and using his newly freed hand to pet at Ilusion’s hair. “You certainly got a mouth on you… I think there’s a better use for it though, don’t you think?”
“Y-Yes, master.” Ilusion stuttered out, still restraining himself from jumping all over Okatani again, which was both painful and pleasing at the same time and caused him to shudder at the arousal it gave him.
“Good. Then you know what to do.” He gripped Ilusion’s hair tightly and pulled his head back down, making him look at the last piece of clothing between him and Okatani’s wish. A shaky breath slipped out as he grabbed the waistband of Okatani’s underwear and looked up, getting a small nod to confirm he was doing the right thing. Slowly, he pulled his underwear down and let himself be pulled towards what Okatani’s body was needing in that moment.
