Diogenes' Utopia

My twin sister and I (both ~1,000, F) are the inheritors of the Titan Thanatos' powers—the power over life and death. It's a big responsibility, and honestly, one I wasn't sure if I was ready for. It was hard to imagine me, of all people, shepherding souls to the realm of the dead for the entirety of the next cycle.

But that's not even the whole thing! The trial we were to undertake forced it so that one of us had to die! What sort of trial would make us turn against one another, anyway? Why can we not inherit the powers together? It's life and death, after all. Wouldn't two people be better?

Anyway… my sister sacrificed herself to complete the trial, and I received the Coreflame of Thanatos. I took my spot in the nether realm and waited for the end of the world and for the cycle to begin anew, as I was meant to.

But I was really unhappy. This wasn't the way things should have ended. And, well, I had the power to change that! So I did.

I used my powers of life to resurrect my sister, allowing her to live again in this new cycle. It's what she deserved, you know?

But now all my friends seem to be upset, saying that I 'upset the natural order of things' and 'caused untold suffering to my sister and countless souls'. I don't get it. So, AITA?

EDIT: Yes, the way my sister was reborn gave her a touch of death that didn't allow her to become close to anyone lest she kill them. But she was alive, isn't that the important part?

EDIT 2: Does it really matter that all the souls of the dead were stuck in limbo for 1,000 years? They were dead; it's not like they had anything else to do. Isn't letting them hang out in the world of the living for a bit longer nice for them anyway?

EDIT 3: Wow ok all these people calling me the asshole are delusional. Wouldn't you do the same in my position? Yeah, sure. Go be judgmental somewhere else.

LycorisRadiata4 YTA, especially after the edit. Did she even ask to be revived? Seems like it'd really suck not to be able to touch anyone for a thousand years. Is that even living?
