I feel like public perception of them would be split down the middle. Ember Blade and Mecha Man would absolutely be at celebrity couple status, seeing as Nevermore used to be an Avenger and Robert and the Mecha Man legacy (built over the three generations) are pretty damn famous.
I do believe the people familiar with the manhunt going on for Ember Blade would be a little more skeptical, worried, and surprised that someone as righteous as Mecha Man would date someone actively on the run from the law. There’s gotta be some sort of online discourse on that.
As for the tabloids? Ooooooh yeah, lots of ‘em! I actually had a post sitting in my drafts that I’m just gonna stick in here because it’s a silly idea that I love so much 🤣
No, Robert, the Torrance news outlets loooooooove their new hottest superhero couple! From dates to paparazzi sightings to press tours to talk show appearances, their kinda controversial relationship is getting slapped on all kinds of newspapers, magazines, and broadcasts. Even the local influencers can’t get enough of them! 🤭
While neither of them really underwent proper media training, they know enough to know to choose their words very carefully. Talking too much about their personal lives would lead to the Robertson apartment being FLOODED with news outlets (and possibly villains!) But, they’ve been in the superhero business for so long, they’re good for keeping their secret identities secret (and, additionally, knowing what is and isn’t safe to share).
And the video edits? THE VIDEO EDITS??? Truly, are you a celebrity couple if nobody’s making edits of you? 🤣
Who would have more, though? Hmmmmmm… That’s a tough one. Honestly, I think I would go for Robert by default because he was Mecha Man longer than Nevermore was Ember Blade. But, also, I would imagine Nevermore having some pretty insane (/aff) fans, so maybe they’re pulling all nighters and spamming edits on their socials.
I also like to imagine they’re being edited together, too, since going public with their relationship ☺️
Rumors, I haven’t really thought of, though. There might be a lot of speculation about minor aspects of their relationship and/or personal lives, but I don’t think many of them would really gain enough traction for either Nevermore or Robert to want to go on the record to put to rest.
