Watch Me NoW

Wow, what an insane night last night ended up being!  I was out with a friend having drinks after work; afterwards I caught the Rapid to get myself home (8:30pm-ish.)  I sat myself down towards the front of the car like I normally do, and had pulled my phone out to text, or respond to a text.  Next thing I know this little punk ass kid walks up from behind me and just SNATCHES my phone out of my hand and starts running out of the train.  At first I was flat shocked, then I found myself running after this little bitch.  

There was a flight of stairs that took us down a level, then for some reason there was a set of stairs that went up (while running these stairs I recall thinking, "why the fuck do they have a set of stairs that go down to then be follow up by a set of stairs that go up?" Why not just have a hallway?)

In any case, I ran down the stairs, then back up a set of stairs, then down a little hallway and came crashing out of the station all the while gaining on this little punk.  We got near the main road when I had grabbed the back of his shirt with my middle finger and thumb and the kid just jumped out into the middle of the road?!?!  He almost got hit by two cars?!  It was CRAZY; don't get me wrong, I love my phone...it's actually got my whole life stored in it.  But I'm not crazy, there was NO WAY I was going to jump out onto a road and risk getting run over by a car.  So, I ran down the parallell street to the kid when he turned into a dark scary alley.  

I was SO pissed.  I felt pissed, sad, and lost all at the same time.  Then, some random white lady drove up next to me in a red SUV.  She was asking me if I had gotten my phone stolen; I was still attempting to look down the scary alley at this point and answered her without thinking and said, "Yeah, some kid just grabbed my phone from me and took off running."  Her response was, "Why don't you get in my car and we'll go find your phone?"  I actually took a step towards her car to get in, when I thought to myself...wait, how the fuck does this lady know that I had my phone stolen?  I backed off from her and she got all "don't worry I just want to help" and bla, bla, bla.  I ignored her and got angrier because I was feeling like this was some sort of grand hustle and like this random white lady was trying to do something even crazier to me.  

Dejected, I started walking back towards the rapid station already plotting/thinking out how I was going to get home and wipe my precious iPhone.  I have a passcode lock on my phone and was happy that when the lil fucker grabbed my phone I hadn't yet unlocked it. 

As I was nearing the entrance of the Rapid Station, I heard a really loud whistle.  I ignored it, then I heard it again and heard someone yell out "HEY."  So I turned to look back and it was two guys that were coming out of the scary alley waiving their hands.  In one of their hands was a phone that had to have been mine.  I turned back towards the street looking at them and not saying anything.  I got back to the street where the kid almost killed himself after I had grabbed him.  

The guys were asking me if I had lost my phone, they must have asked me 3-4 times and I hadn't responded.  When they stepped out of the shadows and into the street lights I could see that it was my phone, and I responded back with a head nod.  I was pretty nervous and ready to run at this point because I couldn't understand what was going on.  They crossed the street towards me and even they could tell I wasn't liking the situation so they stopped before getting closer.  The guy that had my phone just held it out and said here, you can have it.  

Still skeptical, I responded with, "Just like that? You're going to give me my phone back, just like that?"  They were like yeah man, we saw you chasing the kid and when you grabbed him and then lost him.  They said they ran around the other side of the building that the kid slipped behind and caught him in the alley.  

And here's the craziest part: They just gave me my phone back.

I couldn't believe it, I thanked them like 50 times; I think I might have even hugged one of them.  The crazy old lady in the red SUV had pulled up at some point and even she was saying how happy she was that I got my phone back.  I apologized to her for thinking badly, and she said she completely understood, and that she had her phone stolen from her just the other day.

Phone in hand I walked back to the station and got myself home. 

Just finished ripping through Mass Effect 2; actually, I finished last night just before I went to sleep.  It's a good thing I had NOTHING to do last weekend and I pretty much gamed it the whole weekend.

Game was pretty good; glad I was able to go through the first two and have the 3rd one already on it's way from Amazon to close out the trilogy.  

I also went through and picked up a copy of Borderlands this past weekend.  So, I'll probably crack that open tonight.  Since I'm up so early today (been up since 2:30am) I should be good to go after work tonight.  

I do need to get my shit cleaned up at the house/crib; so that's still a work in progress that needs to hurry up and get done.  

Let's see, what else is running through my mind at this hour...? I'm heading to Cali next week for a week.  That'll be a nice/welcome break from my normal routine.  Got my first big project rollin out this week; maybe that's why I'm up? Nah...that shit is locked and loaded. 

Off to the gym then work.

I've got the Oscars queue up on my DVR right now.  I decided to let it start and I'll fast forward through whatever commercials and boring acceptance speeches that pop up early on.  

Been playing Mass Effect; never really got into it when it first came out.  But I downloaded a copy of the Mass Effect 3 Demo off Xbox Live and decided it might be a good franchise for me to go back and start from scratch.  

I am beyond excited that they're finally bringing Darth Maul back into it via The Clone Wars on Cartoon Network.  Without a doubt one of my most favorite characters in Star Wars.  To this day, when that fateful scene comes up...I still shout out a "NOOOOOOOoooo"
