Yesterday, around late evening, I had to make the unfortunate decision to put my cat Paw paw down. Despite everything that happened in March, the struggle it's been since, this day came faster than I thought it would. I didn't expect it to get so bad. She fought for so long in the end, so stubborn like she always had been.

Fifteen years with my first and only baby coming to a close, the tiny little creature who had been with me since she was months old and I was only seven, growing up with me through the most difficult moments of my life where everything got turned upside down. Knowing the hardships just as well as I had.

She was always a little crazy I think. Incredibly particular, hot-tempered, possessed by the odd burst of energy and whim to cause trouble, focused on her own goals while being so, so perceptive. Her raspy meows were always just loud enough to get my attention, and I was happy to spoil her. She never got down playing properly, no matter how much I tried. She spent most of her retirement sleeping away the days outside or with me, curled up in my lap or cuddling late at night.

I loved her so much, knowing that she's gone when it feels like I should just look over and see her beside me still no matter how long it's been will be incredibly hard. I wanted to make this post to... give her that time. Grief is not new to me, but every time I end up here I just want to talk and share the memories of the ones I've lost. She deserves that much.

I wouldn't have asked for any other. I miss you already baby girl, I hope wherever you are now or if it's a simple nothingness you finally get to rest.
