Brief Personality: 

Renji is the more serious twin. He’s very down-to-earth and is more of an observer in most situations, always taking the time to think things through thoroughly before saying something. He has somewhat short temper, and people and things he considers stupid or pointless can get on his nerves very easily. Though he’s not completely opposed to working with a group and has some leadership skills, he prefers to be a loner. When in a group setting, he views himself as the team strategist and relies on Ranka to share most of his ideas and deal with others directly. He can be very sarcastic and blunt and usually doesn’t take others’ feelings into consideration when he speaks or acts. Although he’s the younger twin, he’s very protective of his sister because he’s wary of her outgoing and trusting ways potentially getting her into trouble.

Ranka is the more outgoing twin. She’s generally a bright and cheerful person who is quite talkative and loves conversing with others regardless of whether they’re close friends or not. She’s rather patient and somewhat motherly in that she likes taking care of children and small animals. She’s the more people-oriented sibling and thrives when working in groups, spending her energy on keeping open communication within the group and tending to the well-being of others more than herself. She’s quite stubborn most of the time however, and in the rare event that someone pushes her far enough to make her mad, her anger can be quite scary. Even though she’s the older twin, she usually acts much more childish than her brother and can often be heard telling him to lighten up and stop being so serious.

Brief Background: Nothing really stands out in the twins’ background. The pair has experienced perfectly normal and ordinary lives thus far living with both parents in Japan. Both are quite bored with living in such a mundane way, however, and would gladly welcome any kind of change as long as it brought some kind of excitement…

Brief Personality: Blunt, sarcastic, stubborn, this is how she comes off at first. Keira says things not realizing, or caring, how rude and critical they come off as. There’s a chance she’ll laugh when someone fails at something, just to irk them. Most times if she is ‘nice’ before she actually trusts someone, its just to further her own agenda. To get her questions answered, or whatever it is she needs. Making her seem manipulative, if one could see through this facade. In reality, she’s just put up walls around herself because of people hurting her in the past. She could honestly be kind and caring, if she shared a mutual trust with someone. But unless she does, she will likely be a bit standoffish to anyone who approaches her.

Brief Background: Keira is a high school student who lives with her father, but she might as well be living alone. Her father is never home, often working countless shifts at his job. It’s been like that since her mother passed away, so she’s become accustomed to it. Because of the death, her father just started working nonstop, but would get her anything she wanted and even things she didn’t really need. His way of trying to make her feel better, was just filling her emotional void with material things. Buying her various lessons, every new video game she showed even the slightest interest in, and lots of new clothes she didn’t even know what to do with. Things are nice, but they couldn’t fill in for parents or friends. Most friends she had would just use her to get things, or completely forget about her. Keira shut herself away from everyone else emotionally from having her trust broken multiple times and being treated poorly. Once she finally moved on to high school, luckily not followed by her tormentors, she still didn’t change. Some of her classmates thought of her as ‘cool’ because of her attitude, and how well she did in all her studies. But she pushes anyone who tries to get close to her away, not wanting a repeat of what used to happen. Her life in general consists of studying, cooking for herself, listening to music, and playing video games. She only feels like she can be herself when playing online MMORPGs, mainly because people can’t see her, judge her, or know her weaknesses.

Keira stood in the doorway of her school, watching the rain fall. Her classmates and other students were now leaving as classes had just end. Their chattering was swimming around in her head, she thought she heard one of them saying goodbye to her, but it wasn’t like she’d say it back anyway. Whoever that was, even if she ‘knew’ them, she technically didn’t know them at all. They were just a face, she didn’t bother remembering their names, it wasn’t like she trusted them or liked them. She stared ahead, before sighing and stepping out into the rain, having left her umbrella at home. The long walk from her school to her house felt a lot longer with the rain. But it hadn’t bothered her all that much, it was her fault for not bringing the umbrella. It started pouring more then before, so she had to rush the rest of the way home.

Finally having arrived, she unlocked the front door, taking off her shoes so as to not track mud. She grabbed dry clothes from her room, so that she could take a shower and get out of her school clothes. After that was done, she quickly cleaned up the water she tracked in, and made herself something to eat. While she ate, she noticed a note on the counter, it was just the same thing as always. ‘Hey kiddo, I’m going to be working late again. If there’s nothing you like or can make in the fridge or shelves, I left fifty dollars in the usual place. So go ahead and buy some stuff or order take out. - Love, Dad.’ The girl frowned at the note. ‘Its not like you don’t write a note similar to this one every day.’ she thought, glancing to the place her father normally left money for her.

Once she was finished and put the dishes in the washing machine, she headed to her room. Turning on the computer and signing herself in, a few minutes later a message popped up, so she clicked it. ‘Hey Aefina, its Eosei! What perfect timing you have~ We were just going to make a party to take on that higher level area. Are you in?’ she felt a soft smile creep onto her face. ‘I’m in!’ was her typed response, ‘I’ll have to sign off this though. I’ll met you guys there!’ Once she exited the chat, she doubled clicked to pull up the game. Everything seemed normal, until it got into full screen mode. It was the correct scene, but then it turned black, and was now in a field she had never seen in game. “Was there an update..?” Keira muttered to herself. But on screen her avatar, Aefina, was no where in sight. She felt a mix between panic and anger, wondering if her character had somehow been deleted.

The next thing she saw was completely unexpected, there was some… creature… on her screen. It was impossibly blurry, so there was no figuring out what it was supposed to be. Whatever it was, it was bouncing around happily, as if excited to see her. ‘But it can’t really see me, right?’ the screen then flashed a bright white, now showing a strange symbol on it. Keira felt herself fall, but it wasn’t like she fell out of her chair, she fell forward as if being pulled towards her computer.
