Vladimir was not ready to take care of a child, but when the gods (literally) dropped a child into his arms, he had to ask his mother for help. She wished to protect the Etherian and who was he to say no. Vlad and his mother raised Rory until her passing, after which they had to relocate to the surface world. With Rory too young to remember her past, Vladimir sealed her powers to keep her safe and dawned a disguise of humanity. But when a reckless vampire breaks down their door, running from his maniac brother, her powers are revealed. The people after the boy turn their focus to her and they have to run. Vladimir sends them off on a quest to a safe haven, begrudgingly trusting this troublesome boy to help and sacrificing himself to give them time. Will they make it to their destination?
