Hello and welcome to our gimmick blog, where we decide whether a character did see the towers fall, could have seen them fall, or did not see them fall.

Before we can ask the big question, we must first ask if the Tower of Babel is even still around.

As far as I can tell, in the biblical story of the Tower of Babel, God only caused people to speak different languages so that the continued construction of the tower would have been impossible. There is no confirmation that the Tower of Babel was ever destroyed per se, although I believe that it would be unlikely it is still standing today. Unfortunately citing Wikipedia, as I'm too lazy to delve deep into the writings and beliefs of historic and biblical scholars to discover how they generally feel about the situation for the sake of a gimmick blog (at least as of now), it appears as though any real world structures that might have inspired the creation of Babel's story were destroyed or demolished anyways, such as the Etemenanki, so the Tower of Babel's chances for existing long enough for 2001 is looking increasingly slim.

Furthermore, we must also consider that the Tower of Babel would have likely been located somewhere in the Middle East, likely Mesopotamia, which is now roughly modern day Iraq. With that said, what is the likelihood that anyone from Iraq would have seen America's Twin Towers fall on their televisions? It's difficult to ascertain. Again using Wikipedia, Iraqi TV was primarily Iraq-centric, and Iraq wouldn't have any official relation to al-Qaeda until 2004, so I feel it would have been rather unlikely.

So, even if one believes the Tower of Babel to still exist somewhere, at least up until late 2001, the actual likelihood of it having been able to watch the towers fall is so negligible that it might as well be zero. Therefore, I declare that the Tower of Babel DID NOT see them fall.
