Richard haven’t really gone to a roadtrip in a long while. He almost forgot how liberating the open road is. To add to this, Heikki has agreed to come with and spend weekend just the two of them, kinda like the good ole days. “Oh fuck, Ulrich forgot to fill the tank again.” Richard groaned as he looked at his gauge, muttering under his breathe something along the lines of “Never trusting that German fucker again.” before he sighed toward his cousin. “Well, we better stop to the next gas station. Gonna need to get more gasoline if we want to make it to Chicago!”

Vali sat at the bar as he took a large gulp of his vodka. He couldn’t believe it. His marriage was over. He thought it would last forever. Little did he know that Rob would take off without him and without a word. Was he worth so little? Running his fingers through his hair he took a ragged deep breath. His heart hurt. Would this pain ever end? He was so busy drowning his sorrows in vodka that he didn’t notice the man come up and sit beside him at first. When he did finally notice him, he gave a half smile. “Sorry I’m not great company tonight.”

“They sound so cute and adorable!” Vali let out a few giggles. “I think it would be funny to see this huge dog with these two tiny dogs.” He thought about the dogs that he and Rob were going to get. Nothing was stopping him from getting a dog now. Maybe that was something he should look into. “Ok, next round is on you. But where are we going?”

“They are, unbelievably so!” Richard agreed, thinking fondly to the dogs he’s left at home, wondering what they are up to.” Shrugging the thought off, he motioned for the bar tender to give them one last shot each for the road. “Just trust me man, you’d be better releasing all this hurt in a karaoke bar.” Richard grinned, cheery and with his eyes glinting with a hint of mischief.

Richard really wasn’t the best at social interactions. Most often than not he preferred his company, unless you’re Icarus, in which case you’re pretty much the only exception. Regardless, there was still something so gut-wrenching and relatable about a man alone in a bar, obviously crying for help as he nursed his bottle of liquor. Approaching the man, he gestured for the bar keep to pour him a pint. “Please, if I wanted great company I could just go home and watch TV with my dogs.” He said, trying to lighten the mood hard as it is given the man’s current state. “You think you’ve had enough?”
