     Rolling her eyes as the shrill voice of her lovers twin met her delicate ears.      Trying in vein to hide her distaste for the troublesome Goddess, Aphrodite      turned to her with an obviously put on beaming grin as she informed; “ I’m      looking for Ares, have you seen him ?”

           ❛  I know, right?! what the hell is wrong with this guy? and there I thought ares was familiar with a woman’s needs.  ❜

“How would you know, when you don’t even know what it is?” Strife dusted down his clothing, oblivious to the mortal saying about pots and kettles. “Athena’s spear, yeah yeah.” He also had his doubts that Ares had given the task to them both - more likely to Discord, and she in turn was delegating down the chain.

Not, of course, that his momentary insolence had the courage to actually say that.

“Why can’t he just get Hephaestus to make him one for himself? You know, a duplicate or something.”

“I don’t need to believe him to enjoy the view.” Thera’s head titled a little as she listened, then slowly began to shake from side to side.

“So, let me get this straight - you’re ‘doing me a favour’ by telling me that Ares only wants to use me to get at Hercules … so that you get to use me to get at Hercules instead.” An assessment which might, as it happened, answer the question about whether she was stupid or not.

“Discord … If you’re hoping you’ve created some sort of scorned woman, I’m afraid you’re mistaken. And besides that, I work for one goddess, and apologies, but it isn’t you.”

And suddenly there was the word of a god, and the word of the god was … not overly intelligible. High pitched and probably cuss words, but none of them actually making it out in full as Strife spluttered, quickly teleporting himself out of the water and into an awkward, smoking (and still starkers) heap on the ground.

“ … WHYYYY,” He protested, arms waving as his clothing re-appeared and electrocuted fish began bobbing to the surface of the pond, “do you and Ares always assume that I won’t respond to plain old subtlety?” Up on his feet, with decidedly pissed off hands landing on his hips, “What do you want now, Discord?”

                “I don’t need Hercules – “ There’s a twitch of his brow at the mention of that demi-god’s savior-esque behavior. Autolycus was a man of pride through and through, and while yes, Herc did come in handy, Auto wouldn’t dare say he needed to be saved.

Though, staring at two unnecessarily muscular guards/warriors gunning towards him, he definitely wouldn’t mind the assistance. He passes the goddess a bit of a glare, and then readies himself – wouldn’t be the first time he had to fight his way out of a situation.

She let out a laugh as she simply sat there unphased “Oh really?” An eyebrow raised in amusement, not believing him of course but it was humourous to the Goddess to see him try to cover up his worry. A serene smile was thrown back to the male to counter his glare. 

“Men, indeed.” Thera managed to keep her smirk to almost invisible twitch of lips. “Because we girls would never do anything like that at all!” Which was, of course, a load of total crap. There were as many women as men only out for what they could get - sometimes including herself, as the need arose.

She eyed the goddess a moment or two, teeth gnawing slightly at the inside of her lip. “So … we’ve established that Ares only has an interest in me as a tool - which is a little disappointing. But as much as that explains him … it leaves me wondering about you.” She bat her eyes innocently, as if to take the edge off the question, “Why are you bothering?”

“No, we’re just smarter about it. Hey, a girl’s gotta look out for herself after all” If anything Discord was probably worse than the majority combined. A roll of dark eyes followed at the woman’s question “yes, well that’s my brother, you’re stupid if you were beginning to fall for the crap and believe him. Like I said I want Hercules dead, he’s become a real pain lately” she shrugged with an air of nonchalance “So I need a mortal’s help.”
