Indecisively Certain

The most innocent feeling that I can express silently, is the inner joy when I wake up before you. just before the break of dawn.

The blinds of your window cracked slightly, and slowly, bits of rays shine through; hitting your arm and revealing the sunspots that it gave you in its image. Each freckle closer than the next.

cautious, I delicately tip-toe the tips of my fingers, connecting each dot, slowly journeying towards your shoulder. dust particles dance within the sunlight; my grin, first subtle, begins to beam as bright as light i’m dancing with.

at the bridge of your blade, my eyes slowly linger to your face. Your scruffy face is such a huge contrast to your soft skin, pale in the darkness, but golden as each ray gives warmth to you. your lashes reflects the light, shining and glowing in a way that i couldn’t describe at the time, but now, words overwhelm me.

I scrunch my face, puzzled at how you can sleep through all this beauty, but obviously, you gave that gift to me, to experience alone. eyes closed, you smile,  revealing that you knew all along how I was admiring you, but politely not interrupting my candid happiness.
