Running Away from my Problems

I run for Jeremy who was in pain and the pain won 5 years ago, I run for many other loved ones that we have lost and those that are struggling. I run for myself, who at the age of 13 started struggling with depression and anxiety and became addicted to cutting. Over the last 15 years I’ve been in and out of therapy on and off medication to help, and I finally say today I have found a regiment that works for me. There are still days that are struggle for me to even get out of bed, finding my thoughts slipping back into the “what if I wasn’t here” or the urge to self-harm, but being open about those thoughts with myself and with my loved allows me to be able to overcome them. To take a pause on life and regroup. Running has become my new “addiction” that helps me to be able to release all the negative thoughts, feelings, and urges and to process my thoughts before stepping back into reality. Body appreciation post: I find it amazing what our bodies can do on a daily basis. Almost 3 months ago I over exhausted my body by running a 5K and a half marathon in a matter of 12 hours. Just a few days ago I struggled to run a turkey trot 5K...my legs just could not keep running. Today I was exhausted but still wanted to take advantage of the nice weather and went out for what I intended to be short 1.5 mile. Apparently my body and God had other things in mind because I ended up doing 5 miles none stop from my house in East Earl to Josh’s in Terre Hill!! I don’t have the fittest body or the most attractive body according to society but man can it do amazing things when pushed to the limits. #bodypositive #running #praisegod (at Terre Hill, Pennsylvania)
