Diary Of A Bassist

This is my ESP B-55 5 string bass. I've had this for a few months now and it's the first 5 string I've ever owned! For an instrument is widely considered low end, this has been a fantastic way to introduce myself to extended range basses. It plays like a dream with it's surprisingly smooth neck and the active P and J pick ups give it a particularly clear, versatile sound. It's done me well in the past couple of months of having it and it's been extremely easy to adapt to - which I was not expecting at all!

If you’re reading this, I’m very thankful that you’ve taken some time out of your day to give this blog a look, so thank you! My name is Stan and as you might have guessed by the title, I play bass. I can also play drums and guitar but at this moment in time, my main focus is bass guitar. I play in a metal band (sub genre is hard to pinpoint) called Mantra. If you’re interested in finding out more about that, click the link! I’ve made this blog for a couple of different reasons. The main reason is probably for this to be an outlet, a little port folio I can put together in my spare time. It could be interesting to some of you out there to see how life is for someone trying to pave their way into the music industry. Perhaps it’s something you’re doing yourself and you’re keen to see how other people progress, or perhaps this isn’t something you’ve ever done and you’re looking for inspiration to try or maybe you’re just curious to see how things pan out. Who knows? The content I’ll be posting on here will vary from photos, audio clips, words about a recent event, studio updates (December!), anything relevant at all.
