001. to pick a little more on the headcanon that is claire’s distaste for dividing society through different classes and ranks, is the fact that she felt so bad for the stress she inflicted on one of the maids when she insisted on making her own bed, that she laid in it and rolled around just so the maid could remake the bed to her own liking.

001. as a young girl, claire learned early on to love wearing hats, and it has kept on through her life. although she keenly remembers losing her brand new round straw boater when her uncle lamb tried to force her to go to boarding school. from that point on she wore more hats than girls her age wore ribbons in their hair, and seldom was seen without one outdoors. (alot of it had to do with the heat and to protect herself from sunstroke whilst travelling the world with her uncle). later, that hat obsession grew to headbands and more useful accessories. she'd come up with new, inventive ways to tame the wildness of her curls. 

002. she never took up learning gaelic as a second language, but knows enough to converse casually in brief intervals and could even ask her way around the town in gaelic if the need arises. although if you ask her to write a letter or list in gaelic, she will politely decline.
