Any coffee shop / Anyone
Aksel was glad to be home. Russia was technically his place of birth, but Seattle was his home. where he felt safe and not judged. He had been back less than a day and was already making the rounds sending gifts to people he now regarded as close friends. After a few hours, jet lag was creeping in and he needed a coffee. He stood looking at the board behind the cash register and sighed. Without his glasses and with jet lag, reading the board was almost impossible. He looked at someone queuing and smiled. “ You can go in front of me if you want , I may need help choosing, as I cant see the board.”

“Are you sure?” Diana asked, making sure that the man really meant it. He looked even more exhausted than she felt, and she had spent almost the whole night trying to finish grading essays that all sucked. Grammatically they were fine, but they were all... boring. There was no imagination. She’d made several mental notes about teaching her students how to actually sound interesting but couldn’t remember if she’d actually remembered to write any of them down.
