Edgar blinked in surprise before his face quickly covered in a bright flush. Oh god, he didn't realize how this might have seemed. "N-no, I was just dropping off some things. I work at the elementary school. We're colleagues, honest! I'm Dr. Edgar Wayne! The sixth grade teacher!"

he was a teacher. that made her less alarmed that he wasn't some madman trying to get into the school. "at least that answers the question of why you're here i suppose" she wasn't fully convinced but there was nothing to call him on. he hadn't technically done anything wrong. stupid maybe, but not wrong. "oh okay, looks like your my classroom neighbour. i'm diana mcvries"

Taking a breath to calm himself Edgar nodded. Something about the woman felt familiar. "Yeah, yeah. Just wasn't expecting anyone to be around this early. You startled me."

"i could say the same to you with your creeping around" she countered "i've not long started my job as the fifth grade teacher here, can you not go and make issues? the last thing i need is shit kicking off when i've just got here"

Edgar left right at dawn, hoping beyond hope that the doors to the high school would be unlocked by one of the staff. As he reached the doors, he pulled on it and let out a groan as they refused to budge. The items in his bag felt heavy as he stared at the glass, biting his lip in consideration. Should he wait a bit? Try again later? Give up entirely? It was only when he heard someone's voice behind him that he let out a loud yelp in surprise, turning around and clutching his shoulder bag defensively. Edgar looked like a deer caught in headlights.

being confined to her new home at night was not the vibe for diana. she liked her schedule packed and that included things like going to the gym at three in the morning. however thanks to certain things trying to murder at night, she was left to wait until morning. at first opportunity diana was out the door going for a run when she saw some suspicious activity going on at the school doors.

"I'm surprised you could even read my fucking handwriting," he said with a chuckle, rocking her back and forth in that hug. Art loved his sisters so much. Hated seeing her here, but it felt like a hole in his heart when he didn't get to talk to them at all. "Is everything okay? Did you tell anyone where you were going?"

"it was like deciphering the da vinci code but i got there. you have no idea how long i've been looking for you" she squeezed tighter in their hug, the relief of finding him feeling like weights had been lifted from her shoulders. "i lost you and violet, of course everything wasn't okay. i was losing my mind looking for you both. i let my work know that i had found your research and was following up on it but i don't know if they'd file anything or bother looking for me if i didn't show up."

she had been searching for her siblings since the day they had disappeared. she knew something wasn't right, she felt it in her soul when they had both gone missing, like some part of her had left with them. her head whipped round at full speed when she had heard that familiar voice. it couldn't be clearer. zara was on her way to the office when she spotted the new addition to the workforce, diana mcvries. quicker in her steps, she caught up with the woman "diana, how are you? be honest, are you finding this towns layout as wild as i am?"

"zara" she greeted "i'm okay thanks, how are you?" she asked in return. "being completely honest, i am. i still don't quite understand how a whole town can be here and no one is able to leave."

Danny had been heading out of the Grape Escape when he accidentally walked into her. "Bloody hell." He took a step away then bent down to help her with whatever had dropped on the floor. "Sorry about that."

upon being bumped into, diana dropped her paperwork that she had been carrying. "it's alright, these things happen. do me a favour and catch those pieces of paper for me?" she asked while she bent down to pick up the ones near her.
