- After Wednesday Rescues Enid. They are at the Addams Mansion with Enid in the bathtub in human form as Wednesday helps to scrub her. Enid has not said a thing since she transformed back -
Wednesday: “I thought you’d been hurt… or worse.”
Wednesday lightly scrubs the dirt off of Enid’s shoulders. Enid has her knees pulled into her chest with her head tucked in so that only knotted blonde hair is visible.
Wednesday: “I told you I would find you my canis lupus.”
Enid does not reply but the silence does little to discourage the raven.
Wednesday: “You are safe now Enid. Do you know that?”
Enid: “I’m sorry”
Her voice is barely above a whisper.
Wednesday: “Only a fool apologizes when they have done no wrong.”
Though strange, Wednesday’s worlds go along way to help comfort the girl.
Wednesday moves around to the side of the tub and lifts Enid’s head lightly and brushes the girl’s cheek with the sponge. The dirt is but an excuse to hold her face.
Enid: “I was so scared”
Her voice cracks.
Wednesday: “There is no need for that. I am always here. I will always be your shadow.”
The raven leans in and plants a soft kiss on the wolf’s forehead before standing once more and distracting herself with the task of finding more soap in the cupboard.
For the first time in months, Enid smiles- baring her teeth in a forgotten way.
