Graceless

“Oh I know, trust me, especially having an ARMY VET father, over-intrusiveness is his nature when it comes to mine & my brother’s lives. I’m sure, as is typically said, I’ll understand once I have kids of my OWN, but really they can relax a little. –Anywho, you know if you ever need a place to escape you’re more than welcome to come by mine or the studio.” 

"I think we both will. Well if and when. I'm fine at my place. Or well I will be once I kick my parents out."

“ huh, wonder why they won’t give you your space. you think they’re out lookin’ for you or something? “

"They're the overbearing type. That's why."

    “Hmmm, true. I could hold you bridal style whenever we have to move from one place to the other rather quick. I tell you what. We can test it. You’re still on crutches, yeah? How about I carry you bridal style to my car and then I’ll open the passenger side door after you find your footing. We could use bridal style for the short bursts and piggyback rides for the long ones. Just be aware, if we’re laughing and smiling and having a good time? People may start to assume things” Cameron joked right on back. He didn’t care much for rumors anyway so, he didn’t mind if it got people talking. Especially since the only two people that actually knew the truth would be himself and Devyn. “Well, alright. I mean I had something to eat between now and six-am, but I really don’t count it as food per-say. I had one of those Big Texas Honeybun’s that you buy in a vending machine. But I ended up having to toss half of it because I forgot how much of a sugar lick it was. My teeth began chattering, I swear. For breakfast though, I had Cheerios. Which was a good start .But, my stomach is definitely up for a burger and fries. Hell, I’ll even chip in money for a smoothie or milkshake if they have one”,

" Yes, I'm still on crutches. I'll probably be using them for a while." She noted. Hearing that people might start assuming things only made her smile more.  Of course it amused her as well. "Well if people do start to assume things then we could always just play along." It wasn't as if it would even be for real. Especially when the two of them knew that they were just friends and nothing more than that. "A honeybun? Yeah that really doesn't count as food." Hearing that it had too much sugar, she couldn't help but to laugh a bit. "I had cocoa puffs this morning for breakfast.  I'm definitely hungry though now for a burger and fries. And a chocolate milkshake too."

“they’re the overbearing type? ‘

"They are. It surprises me that they're not babying my brother who's still in the hospital."

    “Ha, you say that like a car accident is just a simple everyday occurrence. But I’ll take your word for it. The lack of walking could be a good excuse to get be to lug you around in a piggyback ride kinda’ way. Way better than carrying you over my shoulder, huh?” Cameron joked. A light chuckle escaping his lips before considering Devyn’s offer for burger and fries. The invitation sounded way too delicious to resist. “Sounds like one hell of an offer I can’t refuse. I’m starving and haven’t ate ever since six-am this morning. Though, I got an idea in my head. Tell me if this is something you’d fancy” Cameron responded. Clearing his throat for a second before relaxing his hands behind him as he spoke up his idea with a certain smile upon his lips. “How about..we go through the drive-thru. We could order out the burger and fries and then I’ll drive us to one of the waterfront parking lots by the beach. One of those parking lots where the view of the horizon isn’t interfered by trees or building, houses and whatnot. We could both enjoy our lunch among the nice weather and you could sit on the hood of my car. Saves you having to walk anywhere and makes it so that you could just lay back on the windshield and relax afterwards. If it gets too hot, we could just put down towels as a buffer. Whatcha’ think?”.

"A piggyback ride would be nice. Or you know, you could carry me bridal style. You know the way a groom carries his bride." She teased.  A soft smile formed on her lips as she looked at him. "You haven't eaten since six am? Okay yeah, we are definitely going to get some food. " Hearing his idea, she had to admit, that it was a good idea. One she would have never even thought of. "That sounds like a really good idea. One that I love. I say let's do it."

“Is it really space, then?” 

"Well to me it is."

    “Oh, right. I completely forgot about that. Sorry, I’ve been running rampant these past few days with work and all. How’re you feeling? I mean, other than the obvious that it happened so recently but, are you at least feeling a bit better with the meds working and all?” Cameron asked. A mixed look of his default, neutral self combined with a hint of concern for his fellow photography buddy. As much as he could address her earlier comments pertaining to her parents staying over and how she’s an adult and all, he went with the more caring and concerning topic at the moment.

"It's fine. Don't worry about it." If he had asked her a few days ago how she was feeling, she would have said without a doubt that she was in pain. From the concussion she got, to having her ankle sprained. It was a lot of pain.  "Well, I'm feeling a lot better than I was a few days ago. The meds are helping with keeping the pain down for my ankle. Still sucks though that it'll be a while before I can walk without crutches though. Enough about how I'm feeling though. How about we go get some burgers and fries?"

“babe, you’ve got a mouth and you can use it.” 

"I know i do. But even if I did tell my parents to leave, it's not like they would listen."

    “Likewise, and that.. is the exact reason why moved out after I graduated college. The fact that my mother walked in on a few unforeseen occasions between me being in a state of undress or active with a female? Yeah.. I needed to leave. If not for the fact that I was clinging onto the hope of moving out so that I could finally taste freedom. But easily because I wanted to finally live my life without there ever being any interruptions or unwanted guests. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t do it purely for the sexual aspect. But it does help knowing that if by chance I ever get that lucky with a gal, at least it won’t be barged in on”.

"I don't live with my parents anymore. But after I got out of the hospital yesterday, they somehow decided it would be best to stay with me at my place for a few days. Which I don't get. I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself. I just, I don't think they realize that though. I'm not a kid anymore. I'm an adult."

“That’s just how family is, trust me I understand how you feel completely, I’m 28 and my parents, especially my mother, still LOVE to check up on me and know every aspect of what’s going on in my life.” 

"As much as I hate to say it, I think parents will always do that. No matter how old we get. Our parents will always check in on us."

Devyn was born and raised in Austin Texas. She comes from a big family as well.

practically everyone in her family is involved in politics in one way or another. With her mother a senator and her dad a representative in the house.

She has one older brother who she is close with. She's also protective over him despite her age too.

She's only been in one relationship which was during high school. The relationship ended on a sour note when she found out he was cheating on her.

She doesn't trust people right off the bat when first meeting them. It takes her a while to trust someone to sum it up.

She loves Mac & cheese. It's one of her favorite foods next to pizza.

She graduated from high school early due to how much she excelled in her classes.

in college, she went for Photography. Which came as a surprise to her parents seeing as they thought she would go down the political route

Just recently, she was in a car accident with her brother which caused her to have a concussion and a sprained ankle.

She's over all a sweet heart. So please come love her.
