his family is very rich and quite large. he has 4 brothers and 2 sisters (some are half-siblings), and he’s the baby of the bunch. 

his family are very upper class, awfully Posh and very driven toward building their empire. all of matty’s brothers have dived head first into his father’s business, with the sisters marrying off to other rich business oriented families -- yes, misogynistic af -- but matty’s always been the family joke because he just isn’t into it tbh. 

he’s very smart, was dragged through the same private education as all of his siblings, but he’s treated like he’s quite dumb by his family. he’s the brat to them, the one who doesn’t know how to stay in line. more of a nuisance than anything else, but they don’t cut him off because that’d be bad for publicity! he’s a party boy, but he makes them seem a bit more #relatable y’know ??? like he might be a fuck up to his family, but out of all of them he’s the most likely to be a household name because he’s always out there doing SOMETHING hence being a socialite. 

his real passion is writing. he’s written plenty of novels and he puts his heart and soul into them, but he’ll never publish them because he’s been told 1 too many times that no one will ever take him or his work seriously

he likes to waste money as a big F U to his ‘rents, though they barely even notice the obscene charges to their accounts so it isn’t all that effective lmao

he’s very arrogant 99% of the time, very rich-kid seeming, but he gets into all the best parties ngl and he can afford the Good Stuff so if u wanna party then in his circle is the place to be ??

he’ll flirt with anything with a pulse. he admires the female body, and he won’t say no to any gender really bc he’s really fucking open minded in that sense ??? but he does have a slight preference toward males bc he’s a sugar baby brat and he’s probably been mistaken as gay in magazines 23837 times because he’s rather “camp”. it’s ok though he owns it. he’s proud to be fluid. 

he’s a slut and he isn’t ashamed of it. at all. he fucking loves it. he’s all about sexuality in every sense and don’t be surprised to see him in cuffs for public indecency (it’s ok his daddy has good lawyers and matty keeps their kids in college!)

okay where do i begin, basically zara is inspired by alex vause as well as a variety of songs by phora ( check him out he’s great ) + an old character of mine that i never truly developed. so, to be frank, she’s a mess.com. i love her though, a lot and i’m going to try to break her down without writing an eight page essay mla format, so! here we go. 

BEFORE AUSTIN, TEXAS. 

zara comes from los angeles, california. the downtown area specifically, not the best area to grow up in but it was home and she never focused on how bad her city was doing because, for starters she only lived there until she was ten years old and the only thing on her mind is her friends. 

her parents divorced when she had turned eight years old, her dad wasn’t the best at commitment to his wife, he absolutely adored zara but settling down just hadn’t been his thing and he left. he kept in touch, briefly. at first, zara understood why he left, he was tired but he loved her so it was okay. but those calls slowly stopped happening until he stopped calling completely and she stopped waiting for them. it was one of the worst heartbreaks she’s faced. 

at ten years old, her mother remarried and they packed up everything to move to austin, texas with her new boyfriend that practically came out of nowhere. he wasn’t zara’s favorite person, in fact she felt betrayed and angry that he was now sitting where her dad used to sit and was taking over. her mother had two kids with this new guy and zara loves her siblings but she still holds a deep grudge for the guy who swept her mother up and ruined her life by moving to fucking texas. dramatic, sure but her friends were all in l.a and she had to start new. 

EARLY YEARS IN AUSTIN, TEXAS ( 10-18 ).

at first she didn’t want to make new friends, sulking became a thing. zara was supposed to loathe this place in hopes that if they didn’t make any friends they’ll pack up and move back to los angeles where she belongs. spoiler alert: that never happened and it dawned on her that this is her life now 

middle school approached and she knew she couldn’t face these coming years alone. it was hell, appearances were something they couldn’t give a shit about, sticking solely to wearing a signature black hoodie all the time, heavy eyeliner in attempt to make herself look tough but instead it got the label ‘basketcase’ stuck on her aka those mean blonde texas girls with the drawls and ‘my momma says…’ etc lmao.

POINT IS, near the end of sixth grade she got into fight with the girl who tried to torment her, finally snapping they fought in the quad of the school and zara let out of suppressed emotions and kicked her ass in front of everyone until they were pulled apart and she felt pleased as heck when she saw she made Beauty Pageant bleeding because good, that’ll teach her to stop running her mouth 

this caught the attention of what teachers like to call the ‘troubled’ kids. when zara came back from her three day suspension (and did she get a yelling at home oh boy) they took her under their wing, zara’s already average grades started dropping by influence, she soon adopted some of their characteristics and mannerisms, forging herself into something she wasn’t seeking their approval because holy fuck these people were great. hanging out every friday at the movie theaters, loitering at the ages of thirteen/fourteen in the streets feeling like kings of the city, it became addicting 

eventually this group formed into some of the ‘popular’ kids, no not the prom king and queen type of thing but they had a name for themselves. especially in HIGH SCHOOL. things started to get heavier, hanging out at the movie theaters turned into going to ragers, to trying weed for the first time, alcohol and zara fucking loved feeling rebellious and indulging in this new-found freedom. her first kiss was a drunk one and she wouldn’t be able to tell you who it was because she doesn’t remember, she just needed her first kiss because everyone was kissing everyone 

her home life didn’t get any better. she started to come home later or the next day. her grades were shit but zara didn’t care. 

soon enough weed turned to lsd. sophomore year became the year she lost her virginity to a guy that was feeling her up at a party, she didn’t care for him, she wasn’t attracted to him but all her friends were non-virgins and so she had to be too. she didn’t give a fuck with who only that it would be over quick and onto the next one. still, the first time left her feeling…weird. they didn’t enjoy it but, she thought it had to be done. not the best mentality to have. 

zara starter ditching school, making new friends with people they met at parties, picking them down the street from their high school. they had drugs, they held the key to a good time. these were…bad people for her. dealers that lured her into their world of easy cash and a fucking good time. they knew they were attractive, still growing into their body and they knew they could munch off of them. most of this was junior year and it’s still a shock her grades kept her in school. 

senior year they hardly showed up. senior year she saw someone die before her. it was one of the guys that provided whatever drug or bottle of alcohol she needed and it was an accident witnessing it. at this rate, zara went days without going home and they were on their way to the semi empty gas station for a drink before finally going home when she saw her friend through the window across the street and, it was a deal gone wrong and a gunshot broke through the chilly night causing her to drop her orange gatorade and spilling it all over the floor before she ran out of the store across the street and, well it didn’t really leave her the same. 

somehow she managed to graduate high school but barely. she felt lost but still indulged herself in bad habits throughout that last year, still free-loading off others, tricking people into doing stuff for her. sleeping with whoever the hell she wanted to fuck. just throwing herself into whatever she could. 

RECENT YEARS/NOW ( 19-22 ) 

at nineteen she was still lost, she didn’t know what she wanted to do. school was out of the question, she hated work but still did odd jobs, for a while they worked at a laundromat, taking care after the place. she still went to parties/clubs, snuck into bars. flirted with all the pretty faces and put on her faux personality. tbh zara is a goddamn two-face. 

ANYWAYS at nineteen she got caught with a gram of heroin by the police. the authorities were called when a party had started getting out of control and they arrested as many people as they could, among them: zara. charged guilty of drug possession, and since her parents couldn’t pay bail, she ended up doing 2 years of prison. two long years in the slammer. 

that was something. it didn’t hit zara that her life choices had her end up in prison until her first night in the women’s ward.  she didn’t cry until she was locked in a bathroom stall and that was the only time. those were the longest days of her life. she met people in there, good and bad. avoided getting into brawls and picked up a book here and there. in my head she had a relationship with someone in there, but not really? frequent fwbs, exclusive. zara doesn’t label shit, she gets bored and, just like her first time, on to the next. honestly help her.

NOW TWENTY-TWO and her parents aren’t welcoming her back. she isn’t allowed to see her siblings, her family hadn’t visited her at all during those two years. her mother only came once but it was short since she couldn’t beat the fact that her baby was in prison, blaming herself and asking where she went wrong in raising her. 

thankfully she had one single friend ( since i have a feeling not a lot of people kept in touch with her after she got arrested; connections anyone ?? and also connection for that ONE friend ) who hooked her up with a job to get her back on her feet but old habits die hard, working at a gas station just isn’t cutting it and is currently getting into the dealing game with her old contacts. 

in my head it’s been like, two weeks since she’s been out. back in the city and ready for Drama. 

did i just see (JEREMY ALLEN WHITE) walking down sixth street ?! oh, wait, it’s just (GAVIN BECKHAM), the (24) year old (MALE) (ANTIQUE SHOP OWNER) who has a reputation for being  (INSIGHTFUL & OBSERVANT) but (IMPATIENT & TEMPERAMENTAL). let’s hope (HE/THEY) prepared to take on the wild ride that is austin, texas.

death tw, alcoholism tw, drug abuse tw!

gavin was born and raised in austin. he pretty much lives n breathes this city & even tho when he was younger he used to dream about living somewhere else, he never really had it in him to leave??? like just every time he got the opportunity or tried to, he backed down.

his mother died when he was very young, kind of suddenly during a home invasion. this was particularly difficult on his father who was working a double at the hospital at the time and felt it was his fault for picking up the extra shift and not being there to save her. gavin was too young to fully remember much of that night, but he struggles with a few PTSD symptoms as a result of it despite that.

his father pretty much never recovered from it. he’s been sad for as long as gavin can remember, throwing himself into his work as a doctor and all but ignoring his only son. when he was home, he’d drink himself into a stupor, and gavin would have to take care of him, would have to pull him together. he had an attitude that pretty much reflected his belief that gavin didn’t have any right to sadness when he “didn’t even remember who she was”. it’s something he’s gotten used to over the years, and something he still deals with today. he figures it’s just his lot in life. :/

tbh he did really well in school, always got good marks, and he kinda found solace in reading from when he was very, very young. eventually his love for reading turned into a love for writing, and he evolved from only avidly turning the pages to writing on them as well. amazing.

he wasn’t really a loner but he was never super popular either. he kinda was somewhere in the middle, mostly hanging out with the more “artsy” crowds and like he writes poetry and short stories predominantly so there’s that. 

he doesn’t usually drink alcohol --- only occasionally --- but he developed a pretty rough smoking habit in his mid-teenage years in order to cope with the stress of his life. along with that, at around eighteen, he gained a dependency on benzos after being given a prescription to treat anxiety attacks. not good my friends.

he went to university for two years before dropping out just after his grandfather passed away. he was never all that close to his grandparents on his mother’s side, so it came as a shock when he inherited his old antique shop. the place wasn’t exactly booming with business (and it still isn’t), but it managed to pay the bills. on top of that, it got him out from under his father’s boot, which seemed to help him a lot in the long run. there was an apartment to live in and everything. he focused on his writing more after that, along with running the business, and has been happier since.

gavin actually published a collection of short stories early last year and has gained a significant amount of notoriety for the fictitious works, making a pretty penny on them and being praised by critics, online reviewers, and other writers alike. he’s quite proud and plans to continue working towards his next project.

as far as personality goes, he’s very observant and not necessarily quiet so much as he just doesn’t say anything if he doesn’t have anything meaningful to contribute?  sure, he can shoot the shit, but he doesn’t see the point in talking shit or in causing drama and stuff like that for no reason. he kinda has a temper problem, so he likes to keep himself as chill as possible and not go off at every little thing.

that being said he’s a really good listener and he’s pretty excellent at giving advice. he takes almost everything to heart and tends to be pretty protective over his friends. chances are if you’re close to him he’s either been in love with you before or thought he was in love with you before and you’ve got a poem or two out there floating around, written about you.

the boy is just a hopeless romantic tbh he wants to be in a relationship so bad but he’s hardly been in any?? at least not for too long!!! he’s slept with people but yikes he usually ends up getting too attached to them after just a time or two. rip

isaiah has only been living in austin for two years. he had initially come to texas with his father to accompany him on a business trip, but liked the city so much that he decided to stay for a little while longer to explore it. while he’s enjoyed his stay so far and doesn’t have plans to return home anytime soon, he does frequently travel between texas and his home state of new york to visit his family whenever he misses them.

at the age of nine, isaiah discovered that he was slowly losing his hearing and would one day become deaf. so in order to make the transition a little easier for him, he learned to speak american sign language and preserve his speaking abilities so he would be able to communicate with both deaf and hearing people. he discovered Deaf culture a few years later, which also helped him cope with the changes, and for several years now has culturally identified as Deaf (with a capital ‘D’) despite being clinically hard of hearing.

he comes from an extremely wealthy family and the luxurious lifestyle he’s used to hasn’t changed despite him living on his own. isaiah’s parents still support him financially and he’s not ashamed of it. with virtually no limits on how much he can spend, he takes complete advantage of it and can easily blow through thousands of dollars in a week. despite him being quick to spend money on himself though, he’s extremely generous and loves to treat his friends to whatever they want too.

most people mistaken isaiah for being the shy and quiet type because he’s Deaf, but he’s not like that at all. in actuality, he’s super outgoing and friendly and will socialize with just about anyone regardless of their hearing level. he’s a pretty chill dude who loves to have a good time and is down for anything that sounds fun, sometimes even if it’s dangerous.

he’s attending college in austin for business and computer programming. although he isn’t sure if computer programming will get him anywhere in his future, he still enjoys learning it.

he has a tendency to be very blunt and say the first thing that comes to his mind. while this is common and not considered rude in the deaf community, isaiah knows that it is in the hearing one and apologizes if he says something hurtful during the times he forgets.

on the days he isn’t in school or partying with his friends, isaiah helps teach asl down at the local deaf school. he doesn’t get paid for it since he’s a volunteer, but he doesn’t mind and still enjoys doing it anyway.

Devyn was born and raised in Austin Texas. She comes from a big family as well.

practically everyone in her family is involved in politics in one way or another. With her mother a senator and her dad a representative in the house.

She has one older brother who she is close with. She's also protective over him despite her age too.

She's only been in one relationship which was during high school. The relationship ended on a sour note when she found out he was cheating on her.

She doesn't trust people right off the bat when first meeting them. It takes her a while to trust someone to sum it up.

She loves Mac & cheese. It's one of her favorite foods next to pizza.

She graduated from high school early due to how much she excelled in her classes.

in college, she went for Photography. Which came as a surprise to her parents seeing as they thought she would go down the political route

Just recently, she was in a car accident with her brother which caused her to have a concussion and a sprained ankle.

She's over all a sweet heart. So please come love her.
