rene:
Rene recognized the voice. It belonged to one Devon Herline. If you asked him, he probably wouldnât say they were friends, but she certainly trusted himâif her talking was any indication. He didnât mind, though. He had always been very good at listening. âNo,â he said. âI guess I am not in either camp. Itâs okay being here. But you miss some things from home.â He shrugged. âYour summer?â
âThatâs understandable.â Devon nodded as she twirled a strand of hair. She looked around their surroundings and then grinned as she returned her attention to Rene. âIt was actually rather fun. Mum and dad took their vacation time and we went to the beach and I got to see the ocean for the first time. Have you ever been to the beach, Rene?âÂ
taliaâ:
The little display earned Devon an amused raise of Taliaâs brow. When she was younger, sheâd had similar slip-ups, even if the results had been vastly different.
âIt happensâ, she said, waving a hand dismissively. âRemaining in control 24 hours a day is tiring. Weâre all bound to slip ups.â
âHonestly, I know youâre right but I feel like I shouldnât be having them as often.â Sometimes she was a little tough on herself and then sighed as she set the glass aside. Devon tried to cheer up however, âAt least Iâm always capable of helping someone possibly make a slushie.â She tried to joke.Â
anthony:
Anthony was seated at the diner high top, nose buried in his book. Today he was in the world of The Alchemist, one of his all time favorite books. He gave a small smile as he continued to read through the passages. He was brought out of his own world when he noticed the girl next to him. He studied her every move and watch as she made the glass of water in her hand freeze completely. He cocked his head just slightly, continuing to stare at the glass. He began to speak, âUh⌠does that happen often?âÂ
Devon tapped the glass a couple of times and sighed to herself mostly. She wished she had the ability to unfreeze things but that evidently wasnât the case. At least not yet. She heard the otherâs voice and glanced over at him with a smile, âUnfortunately more often then I like it to but at least I wasnât in the middle of drinking it because thatâs even worse. Iâve gotten glasses stuck to my lips before.âÂ
It wasnât the first time it happened. She should have control by now, right? She should know how this works but Devon still had slip ups. She looked at the frozen glass of water in her hand and then set it down as the other gave her a puzzled look. âI guess now I wait.â She chuckled sheepishly.Â

rene:
Rene, as was typical for him, sat by the edge of the lake. He had his hood pulled up over his head, his knees to his chest, and his arms hugging his legs. The first day back was always a strange one. Everything was too soon and too far away all at once. âWhich camp are you in?â He said out loud, sensing someone nearby. âThe great-here-we-go-again one? Or the finally-we-get-to-come-back one?â
Devon had figured sheâd find her friend here. The lake just seemed like a place where heâd take off to. She was trying to be quiet but apparently failed miserably. Devon didnât pay too much mind and instead continued to walk over to him and take a seat besides him, âYou know me. Itâs the finally-we-get-to-come-back one.â She smiled as she gazed down into the water, âIâm assuming youâre the other?â
