Eyes down like they usually were whether he was moving standing still, alone, or with people, Milo adjusted the strap of his bag on his shoulder and looked up only when the door opened. The sight of Dev startled a laugh out of him, part shocked, part shy, part happy to see him. Well aware of his face heating up, he stepped inside and clumsily slipped off his shoes. “You know, when I was a kid I thought that was a bad thing. Like seeing someone made your eyes sore.”

“Yeah?” Dev questioned, grin clear in his voice. He’d never get tired of hearing that laugh. Sure, Dev had too much pride to actually admit that and was far too terrified of rejection and losing his closest friend to dwell too hard on his feelings, but it didn’t stop him from feeling embarrassingly content around Milo. “How long did it take you to figure it out?”

Milo: That's probably a good idea, yeah. I can go right there from work if you want?

Milo: Soapy water and nail polish remover works for me. Stinks like shit though.

Milo: I did some more work on my model pirate ship but Lenny stepped on the glue and... it got all over the place.

Milo: I work til one in the afternoon but I'm free after.

Dev: I can hold out until one.

Milo: Progress. Think you can do it again tomorrow?
