Guernica by Picasso. The artist painted this in response to the first civilian bombing in the history of wars. It expresses the horror and the dark side of casualties and suffering, as well it shows hope and selfish desire of ending fascist political powers. Little known story, when the German- Nazi army knocked on the door of Picasso at a gallery exhibition, they saw this painting and said” so you did this!” To which the artist replied “ No! YOU did this!

Photographer Erwin Blumenfeld’s photo exhibition at Edwynn Houk Gallery. the artist uses portrait and developing techniques in darkroom to create his prints. Majority have a two-face sense about them, which speak about, what we show and what we are with in are two complete contrast, which is relatable in many phases of life. The artist has also, combined eroticism through shadows and overlay, conveying a inner truth- soul.

Self presentation. These series spoke to me as an question and an piper’s answer. Question being how does she want to present her self in a flood of people.. and that sketch or caricature that she drew of herself, is the answer to how she sees herself fit in it. Even though how seamlessly the caricature fits itself, its still a reminder of not being her true self, which is conveyed by the irony of the text provided by piper herself. I related to it the most in a instance which i didn’t realize why, but it was only later where i spend some time to think about all the picture is when i realized how this is similar to my project of  unmasking human emotions through expression candid portraits.

These pictures were taken by me at the National Museum of American Indian, it’s in downtown Manhattan near Wall Street. The murals that you see , is in the main lobby picture( which I call the Paul Frame) of the museum which was originally the US customs office. These murals were painted over 3 months and narrate the story of travelers and cargos harboring in to the port of New York. The collage map consists of picture that represent every stats culture.

The main difference between graffiti writing and street art is intention. Graffiti writers are not interested in the general public understanding their artwork. They are primarily concerned with other graffiti writers who can decipher the coded tags and appreciate the style of the writing. The first modern graffiti writer is widely considered to be Darryl McCray , tagging name Cornbread, a high school student from Philadelphia, who in 1967 started tagging city walls to get the attention of a girl. But it was only in the 1980s that galleries began to showcase graffiti as artwork Graffiti (plural of graffito: "a graffito", but "these graffiti") are writing or drawings that have been scribbled, scratched, or painted illicitly on a wall or other surface, often within public view.

Saturday morning(upto past noon) a huge crowd gathered at the Delancey street subway stop, trains were delayed (obviously) but no one looked frustrated no one agitated and no one had their heads in their phones... all thanks to this amazing performer... Do check out some original songs @pinclouds
