Unpopular But Not Unreasonable Opinions

Many art classes stress imitating photos or someone else’s work to improve technique, which is certainly valuable. However, they often forget to also encourage creativity and originality. After all, copying machines exist so that we don’t have to create replicas of pieces that already exist.

Saying something truthful, even if not politically correct, can prove ultimately more thoughtful, so don’t be afraid to be honest.

While memorization can certainly be a useful tool, it often overshadows teaching more important problem solving skills in schools.
