“you picked her because we’re not friends anymore”, she snapped, “she’s the only person i know who’s loose enough to want to fuck you.” flora heard the blonde snap at her like a little dog but ignored it entirely. “i just think your attempts to piss me off and have me talk to you are ridiculous, seriously? her?” the girl in question had left them alone, finally. it was an insult to flora, that he would apparently be interested in her and then accept attention from that blonde bitch. “i saved you from having to get tested and being put on medication for the std you’d get. you should be thanking me, not standing there pouting like i’m some mean monster who stole your toys or whatever.” fuck she needed a strong drink, maybe a line of something too if she was pushed hard enough. 

a lot of people from both stella’s present and past would likely disagree with gen, deeming her money hungry and a whore. but gen knew her, or most of her. she wasn’t sugarcoating anything these days, no scheming or plotting to pick up another rich and pretentious man. she was happy with what the two of them had grown together, understood that gen was a hard worker by nature and that stella would sometimes spend evenings and weekends without her. “well good for chloe, i mean you work so hard baby...you deserve a break.” they both deserved time together, with stella giving all her working time to catching out cheating husbands she needed a few days to relax and decompress. “so, what do you have planned for your little break?” she was excited, barely containing her glee as her fingers brushed over the diamond set. 

“listen, i never said i was the sanest guy ever. did i?” so yeah, maybe he did like it when she challenged him, made him groan and want to tug his hair out by the roots. it was a hell of a lot more intriguing than the local girls who spread their legs for him without him even asking for it, boring him to death with their porn-star style fake moans. daisy didn’t do that shit, she didn’t pretend. not with him. “you mean like heart ones for valentines and pumpkin shaped ones for halloween? damn, my brothers might end up takin’ all your marshmallows if you bring weird ones over daze. just warnin’ you.” and they’d tease him relentlessly for falling so hard for a rich girl like her. staring at her heath blinked for a second before nodding intently, “of course i would babe, i don’t say anythin’ i don’t mean. you wanna drag me around shops that smell like my grandma’s purse? we’ll do it, if it makes you happy.” making an effort for daisy ironically wasn’t that much of an effort for heath at all — he wanted to do it, make her happy. her parents failed miserably and as far as he knew her friends were vapid and self absorbed, did she ever really have a genuinely fun time? “hey i’ll die if i wanna die, if i decide to choke over you not putting out then i’ll damn well do it darlin’ you just watch”, he was all bravado, hiding his grin as he listened to her tinkling laugh. he wanted to hear that shit on repeat. at the mention of time he cast his gaze upward, noticing how the low hanging grey clouds had been slowly replaced with darkening ones, sun dipping below the stalls and cars. “you could, huh?” eyes back on her he smirked, tugging her close to his side as they walked toward the entrance and exit, “does this alone time include that pretty dress of yours being on or off? ‘cause i got a preference, if you wanna know.” 

“he kind of reminded me of a lollypop. you know...small body and really big head? i don’t know what people find appealing about that.” shaking her head lowen avoided the comment about her being hot, it was something she was attempting to accept from him because if chase didn’t believe she was attractive he wouldn’t be with her. “trust me chase, the very last thing i wanted was for him to even approach me never mind open his mouth and show off his ridiculous veneers.” the way chase spoke about the guy should have made lowen worry for the guy’s safety, yet she hadn’t been lying when she said how annoying he had been. plus she could distract chase from hunting him down if she needed to. “good, because i am hungry. maybe we can pick up a pizza or something? bring it back to mine?” she was over the whole bar night out thing, it was too loud and overwhelming. despite spending the better part of her evening getting ready lowen couldn’t wait to get home and get changed into anything other than her tight jeans and shirt. 

in hindsight, her adventurous and sexy idea had backfired entirely. the guy had ditched and she was freezing, arms curling over her chest and rubbing against the silk fabric of her dress. “i don’t know, maybe? he didn’t show so i guess it could be possible”, a weak laugh escaped, tinged in sadness and followed with a mild pout. “is this place really you know — haunted?”

gibsie didn’t entirely trust her judgement when it came to things that were ‘regular’ and things that would give him a heart attack. but considering he’d gone all the way across town there was no point in whimping out and not going inside. “hey some bikers can be very persuasive i imagine, like...they’ve survived this long, haven’t they?” he didn’t rule it out. “how do you know though? do they all wear leather jackets and drink their whiskey without anything else added in?” oddly enough gibsie was not learned in how to spot a potential troublemaker. glancing around he tried his hardest not to choke on second hand smoke and gave his head a quick shake, “not my kinda thing, i’m more so going off a general feel. you know?” following her to the bar gibsie moved to put his elbows on the surface but stopped when he realised how sticky it was. “uh, how about...” what was appropriate given their location? “a whiskey and ginger ale, thanks.” because of course lilith would have the bartender drooling in two seconds flat, gibsie wouldn’t expect anything less, unless the guy wasn’t into women then it made sense. “do you uh, do you think i’ll contract some sort of flesh eating disease if i rest my arms on this bar?” 

she was a mess. usually magnolia got her solid eight hours sleep and spent an hour before and after doing her skincare routine — that day she had barely slept at all and her skin felt like sandpaper. it was ironic, how the person her family had decided on didn’t even know it was their final day. loading up on caffeine at her favourite local coffee shop magnolia knew they would be there too, as always. with sweaty palms she settled across from them, chewing harshly on her bottom lip — lipgloss forgone in her doubt and worry. “listen, i know this is kinda weird and sudden but...want to do something tonight?” 

ember had put lyric down as the type of man who wanted a good time, based on the fact they had gotten high together and fucked in a bathroom. she knew despite him being her professor that man still existed inside him. “good”, his words made a smile bloom on her face, which she tried to tamper down just a tad. she didn’t want to appear stupid or childish. “sure, um...i mean, you could always come to mine? i have an apartment, it’s outside of campus”, because it was much cheaper, “or a bar?” she didn’t care, not really. her apartment would give them privacy but maybe he didn’t want that right then? she definitely did though. 

storming up to them flora didn’t waste a second before stepping in front of the blonde they had just been groping. “are you kidding me? you’re deciding to hook up with her?” her being flora’s childhood friend turned utter enemy because of behaviour eerily similar to this only with an actual boyfriend. “why don’t you go and lick the toilet seat in the bathroom, i’m sure you’ll have less a chance of contracting something.” rude and the girl instantly piped up but flora shooed her away with her right hand. this wasn’t even really about her, not at all. 

being woken up at 3:32am was not how gibsie wanted to spend his night. in the slightest. but the incessant pounding on his apartment front door had him groaning and rolling out of bed to answer it anyway. opening the door he blinked in the light of the hallway and then blearily studied the girl before him — a near stranger — and sighed sleepily. “i...hello. i uh, i think you might have the wrong apartment? there’s a douche two doors down, i think you might be here to shout at him. or something.”
