Devil Hunter for hire. If it's got fangs, claws, or a bad attitude, I've probably shot it already. Leave a job. Leave a problem. I'm not picky.
Devil May Cry independent role-play blog.
About
Dante is a Devil Hunter, simple job title, complicated history.
He is the son of Sparda, a demon who once turned against his own kind and sealed away the gates of Hell to protect humanity. That legacy didn't come quietly. It left Dante and his brother Vergil carrying two different interpretations of the same blood.
Where Vergil sought power through control and inheritance, Dante rejected the idea that strength should come at the cost of humanity. That divide shaped everything that followed between them.
Dante now operates as a freelance Devil Hunter, taking on jobs involving demonic activity, cursed artifacts, and anything else that doesn't belong in the human world. He runs on instinct, experience, and a refusal to let the past define him more than it already has.
Despite his attitude, he's not careless. He understands exactly what's at stake in most of the things he faces, he just prefers not to make it heavier than it already is. Humour, sarcasm, and deflection are part of how he keeps moving forward, especially when things get personal.
This portrayal follows mainline Devil May Cry game canon by default, while allowing for crossovers, alternate universes, and divergent interpretations where appropriate. Interactions can range from lighthearted encounters to darker, more narrative-driven threads depending on the tone established between writers.
At the end of the day, Dante is what happens when something demonic learns how to choose people anyway.
