Numachi Ghost

Her existence defied the bounds of reason – not that ghosts were supposed to exist to begin. But, in the here and now, after the events of that day about a year ago, she hadn’t so much as expected that presence.
Was this the sign of something bigger to come?
She shook her head. As it was then, and as things were now, it was best not to think too much into the matter. “No. I’m just as glad to see you. Really, Numachi.” Those words sat heavy, forced through an equally contrived grin.
“But, only here for me, huh… So, that means–”Â
“–Well, it’s not as if I wouldn’t put it past you to stalk me this whole time. But really, what is it that you’re after, anyway? You wouldn’t have shown yourself unless there was a reason, was there?”
At the sight of a smile, Numachi brightened up. Though it was fairly obvious that the sentiment behind such a gesture was missing, it was enough and she would gladly take any kind of friendly emotion from Kanbaru.
Eventually she moved off the bench to stand before her. Though the injury that had affected in life had not translated into death, a pair of crutches nonetheless appeared for her to lean on. A faint smile still showed on her lips before she rolled her eyes and leaned in until their nose threatened to touch.
“Come on. Don’t misunderstand my motives, all right? Just because I’m showing up before you now, doesn’t mean that it was my choice to do so.” Though even she couldn’t deny how strange it was.
“Maybe it was you who had a reason for never seeing me, because I’ve been haunting you for quite a while now.”
