Glamour. Ebony figured thats what she must do to cover up her changing eye colour. “My eyes change colour according to my mood. I mask it and make my eyes look brown.” The last thing she needed was everyone else picking up on the fact her eyes went from blue to black and any colour in between. “I assume that would be a glamour.” She looked down for a moment, shaking her head ever so slightly. She knew absolutely nothing about herself or her power. She smiled to what Magnus said, even though she truly didn’t believe it. If there was this whole other world she was part of, and none of them noticed her, not one single person. She wasn’t very important. Though she did have other questions. “Before my mother left me, she told my step father that she regretted summoning Belial.” Her mother had summoned him because he was one of the nine princes of hell and could do so much for her. Instead he left her with Ebony. “That I wouldn’t have been born in the first place if she hadn’t. Do you know who that is?”
That was one of the more interesting warlock marks Magnus had ever seen, and considering how many years he’d been alive, that was saying something. It was also very similar to his and very easy to keep glamoured, which was probably why she managed to keep them hidden, even with minimal control of her magic. “Yes, that’s a glamour. It’s usually one of the first bits of magic a warlock learns. Your eyes change color with your mood, mine are the eyes of a cat. Everyone’s mark is a little different. You and I are lucky in that ours are easy to cover. My best friend, she is dark blue with pure white hair. A much stronger glamour is needed for her.”
Magnus raised a brow. If Belial was her father and Ebony hadn’t managed to destroy anyone in a hundred and sixty years, then she had a lot more control than she thought. “I do. He and my father are brothers, so I suppose that makes us cousins.” He would tell her who they were but not here, not in the open. “Can I portal us to my loft? It will be safer there and I will answer any and all questions you have. Nothing is off limits. After so long on your own, that is the least I can do.”
Ebony was hesitant to go anywhere with someone she had just met, but Magnus seemed to be the only one that could give her answers. The portaling seemed fairly self explanatory, she was just scared it would trigger her magic. “It won’t affect my magic in anyway...right?” She clasped her hands together, something she did when she was scared of her magic, scared of herself. Ebony could feel it bubbling at the surface all the time, just waiting. “I’ve hurt people before.” She shook her head. It seemed silly, to be scared of her own powers, but Magnus didn’t see what she did to whatever that thing was. “It must seem silly, that I’m so scared...” She tucked her hair behind her ear nervously. She was fully grown to a mundane, but in the world of warlock’s it seemed she was still like a child.
