Another view of the pipe organ at Everybody's Universal Tabernacle Church of Holiness, which miraculously survived the fire that gutted the rest of the sanctuary. @Ronald Wolniewicz pointed out that this organ was built by Geo. New location added to the website: DFD Engine 21, Ladder 28 and Chief 5 called this station home from 1927 to 2013 when it was closed for budget reasons. Though it was vacant for a few years, it was recently sold and is being converted into commercial space.

Agudas Achim Synagogue was built in 1923 by Austro-Hungarian Jewish immigrants who settled on the north side of Chicago, IL. Once considered to be one of the largest congregations in the city, the synagogue began to lose membership in the 1960's and closed in 2008. It is currently being redeveloped for residential use.Â

Dr. Charles Oakman Orthopedic School was one of Michigan's last schools designed and built specifically for children with special needs. It closed in 2013 amidst controversy about the rationale for closing it and where handicapped students would be sent.

Lew Wallace High was one of several schools in Gary, Indiana that closed due to budget problems in 2014. Much like Detroit's public school system, Gary has been struggling with a district designed for many more students than are currently enrolled.

Detroit Urban Lutheran was a school on the west side of the city that closed in 2010 due to financial reasons. Under the guidance of principal Roy David Siefker, DULS outlasted all other Lutheran schools in the city, providing education to thousands of young people. The school has since been cleaned out, but no plans for its future have been announced.
