spencerfmsâ:
Spencer snorted out a laugh even though it wasnât very funny. âYeah, that would do it, I think.â He replied with a raised eyebrow and a shit eating grin. He shook his head after a minute and gave a serious answer. âI donât know, honestly. Every time someone has a claim of evidence, it doesnât seem real. I canât ever tell whoâs a fucking liar or not so until something happens like, right in front of me-â He trailed off looking past her for a moment as he was at a loss for words. âwho really knows, right?â he finished, feeling satisfied with his answer but then he remembered who he was talking to. âI guess..you would, the psychic.â he wasnât mocking her, but it almost felt like he was and now he felt like a total dick. âSorry.â He awkwardly said.Â
âIâll have to do my best to try and get possessed then,â she jokes a bit again. Destiny looked down at her feet to make sure she wasnât going to trip over anything as she walked backwards as he thought about his answer. She let out another loud laugh and shakes her head. âNah, not a big deal,â she reassures him. âAt least from my experience people really do think they have some evidence but nine out of ten times that people think theyâre being haunted thereâs a real explanation. Iâm not saying all ghost stories are bullshit, I just donât think people know what theyâre looking for.â

Destiny: lets get shit faced
rcsearcherâ:
âThatâs true, if I saw you watching it and we hadnât had this discussion I probably would have talked to you about it.â He confessed easily, raising his shoulders slightly in a shrug. âI mean, I donât think that fruit is boring. I especially donât think that strawberry shortcake is boring.â He laughed at her comment, but continued with his smore making process anyways. Waiting for it to cool a bit he pulled off the burnt layer and then used all the gooey innards to make a smore. âHave you ever actually tried it? Itâs good.âÂ
âAnd I would be very annoyed and probably want to stop watching it, Iâm not going to lie to you,â she admitted. âAre you one of those people who would much rather have a plate full of grapes and pineapple rather than a plate full of sour patch kids and skittles?â she asked, looking over at him as she chewed through the sticky marshmallow. âI will never try a burnt marshmallow, Aidan.â
spencerfmsâ:
âOh definitely not.â He immediately replied, shaking his head and looking down at the ground for a second and then he looked back up at her. âIâm more of a ..â He hesitated as he found the right wording. ââbelieve it when I see itâ type of guy.â
âAnd what entails that you would see to believe?â Destiny asked, turning around so she could face him and walk backwards. âA demon crawling out of the walls and possessing me right before your eyes?â

â  yeah â  iâm âŚÂ  no .   people talk at parties ,  iâm not good at âŚÂ  that .  thatâs why iâm behind a screen the whole time .  itâs my happy place .  â     wishbone fingers clutch tight to her disposable paper cup,   steam heating up fair pads like a furnace through the thin protective layer ;    the very idea of waltzing about idly ,   trying to make chit-chat makes her stomach crumple into a knotted mess .  she slaps the side of her stuffed purse ,  triumphantly exhaling ,   while golden wrappers crinkle loudly under pressure .   â   iâm just gonna grab a pile of coffee and twix bars and build myself a fort, if you donât mind .   if any ghosts try  &  join me ,   iâll be sure to let you know .    â
Destiny rolled her eyes hard. âYeah, people talk everywhere you go. Weâre literally talking right now,â she said, unamused. she examined the other girl with her eyebrows raised, unsure why she was acting so uneasy around her but growing more annoyed by the second. âI do mind, actually, thanks.â
nightmxdeâ:
âIâm not sure, but something good.â The nurturer admitted, squinting down at his phone to read over the notes he took of Aidanâs stuff. âSeems like there have been a lot of reports of weird stuff hereâŚbut thatâs true of all the places weâve checked out.â
ââWeird stuffâ doesnât necessarily mean itâs supernatural either, babe,â Destiny lifted her shoulders into a shrug. âCould just mean thereâs a creaky floor and a broken window that lets in a draft.â
arcmusingsâ:
âsometimes its nice to think there could be something else, though.â she shrugged. âso you think its just static or something?â
âWell, Win Win,â Destiny started, folding her hands in her lap. âYou havenât played it for me yet so I canât tell you.â
rcsearcherâ:
âYeah, I agree. Itâs hard to binge shows and everything when youâre constantly working or travelling. Especially because you have to have the forethought to download it in advance if you want to watch it on the bus. Then thereâs the potential for distractions because there are so many of us in one small space.â He sat in silence for a moment so he could think before answering, âI like chocolate bars that have peanuts in them. I also like peanut M&Ms and all that. I mostly like things that are fruit and sugar. Strawberry shortcake and stuff like that.â He watched as his marshmallow caught fire and let it burn evenly before bringing it closer so he could blow it out.  âDonât judge me for this. Once you take off the burnt outer layer the inside is perfect for a smore.âÂ
âPlus if I start watching that show I guarantee Iâm gonna be swarmed by everyone on the bus either wanting to watch it with me or asking me how far I am and all my thoughts on it so far and I genuinely do not want to deal with all that,â she admitted lightly. âSo all Iâm hearing right now is you like boring shit,â Destiny said to him bluntly. She watched him burn his marshmallow in disgust before scrapping hers onto a plain graham cracker. âI will most definitely judge you.â
arcmusingsâ:
âarenât you the one thatâs meant to be convincing me itâs all real and extra spooky? what happened to our dynamic? when did i become the main believe here?âÂ
âNo I am, but eight times out of ten itâs nothing supernatural at all and I get bored of having to explain that to people.â

âThat has got to be the worst part about being a ghost besides the whole being dead thing. Iâd knock popcorn out of peopleâs hands too.â Sheâd be lying if she said she hadnât thought about what it must be like to be a ghost, but for the moment Mika didnât have any plans on finding out. âWhy not? Are they shy all of a sudden?â She looks at Destiny up and down. âSo you donât deny it?â
âOr, you know, watching all your loved ones move on without you?â Destiny suggested, unimpressed. She shrugged her shoulders a bit and then looked back down at her phone before Mikaâs words made her look back up again. âYou can do your best to try to have a sit down interview with a ghost and ask them why not and then you can get back to me.â
theaftcrlifeâ:
At first, Frankie thought he hadnât heard her right. Maybe sheâd said plate. Or late. But neither of those words made sense in the question sheâd asked, and after a few seconds of stunned silence, he blinked back into awareness. Though his stomach was suddenly in knots and his cheeks had grown uncomfortably warm, when he spoke he was grinning. âWho, me? Or did you mean himââ He turned around in his chair, tapping the man behind him on the shoulder. âExcuse me, sir, but I think the lady here would like you to ask her on a date. And Iâd advise you not to say no, because, I mean â look at her. One in a million.âÂ
Destiny rolled her eyes and leaned over the table to smack Frankieâs shoulder with the back of her hand. âStop it, leave him alone,â she whispered to him. âI apologize for his behavior, clearly he does not know when to take a hint,â Destiny smiled at the man behind him before settling back into her seat and crossing her arms over her chest. âAlthough I would much rather go out with a local if he would actually ask me out,â she said to Frankie.
theaftcrlifeâ:
Having finished his breakfast, and with his stomach satisfied, Frankie settled into his chair comfortably. He propped his ankle across the opposite knee and glanced around at the other guests. âThatâs what they get for inviting a bunch of young ghost hunters to stay here for free.â He paused, picking at the hem of his pajama pants. âWell, come one now, Destiny, do I look like a psychic? I canât tell the future.âÂ
Destiny looked around at the others staring at them and shrugged her shoulders, deciding if they wanted to stare they could. âTheyâre probably just jealous since weâre clearly the coolest people at breakfast,â she giggles before taking another bite of her waffles. âYeah, neither can I, dummy.â She sets her fork on her empty plate with a loud clank. âSo are you gonna ask me on an actual date after this or what?â
rcsearcherâ:
âThatâs probably way less pressure, but still an important task. You never finished it? I think I finished it in, like, a week. Which is rare for me because I really donât watch that much tv. You should retry watching it. Even if itâs background noise, itâs a good show.â He laughed and shook his head, âno. Iâm usually not much of a chocolate bar sort of person. I have to be in the mood for sweet food.â He followed suit, skewering a marshmallow and holding it over the fire, his attention turning from her to his attempt at toasting a marshmallow well.Â
âI will eventually. Itâs just hard to focus or commit to a tv show when youâre constantly on the move, you know?â she shrugged her shoulders slightly. âThatâs weird. Iâm always in the mood for sweets. What kind of sweets do you like?â she asks as she pulls her marshmallow away from the fire after it turned a shade of gold.
spencerfmsâ:
Spencer felt the corner of his lip tug up into a smile and lifted his head back up. âYeah, you got it.â He replied with a nod. He gestured towards the large building, trying to figure out what else to talk about. âYou think thereâs something in there?â He asked.Â
Destiny glanced from him to the building, then back to Spencer. He was easy to read and she knew he was just trying to keep the conversation going which was sweet of him. âIâm guessing you donât.â

âso, iâm going through some of the videos i took last night and i swear i can hearâŚnot right stuff in the background. like, sure, my phone could just have janky audio and iâm high as hell but also this stuff ainât right.â winnie looked up at them, holding out their phone for the other to take if they wanted to listen. âor iâm just not with it.â
âDid you listen to it with headphones on?â Destiny asked, shoveling the last of her lunch in her mouth. âBecause you could just be hearing background noise of this place right now.â
arcmusingsâ:
âusually i donât care about the kinda stuff they want me to pull on camera. you know the classic turn the flashlight off if youâre here shit? but something about this place doesnât sit right with me at all. i donât think iâve felt normal since we walked in.â
âYeah that doesnât work,â Destiny stated without looking up from her phone. âThe flashlight trick is bullshit and has to do with the batteries and the movement of whatever itâs sitting on, like the floor or a table.â
