Amen 🙏🏼 Yes, it’s so important to be vigilant about what we consume, both physically and spiritually. In a world where so much is offered to us, it’s vital to remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We’re called to honor God in everything we do, and that includes being careful about what we eat and who offers it.
In Matthew 7:15-16, Jesus warns, "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit, you will recognize them." Just like we are cautious about who we let influence our spiritual life, we should also be discerning about where our food comes from, as it may carry more than just physical nourishment.
In James 4:4, we’re reminded, “You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God?" It’s a reminder that we should not compromise our faith or values by aligning ourselves with things that may not honor God. So when it comes to food or anything that enters our lives, we should seek wisdom and discernment from the Holy Spirit.
We are not only called to protect our physical well-being but also to guard our hearts and minds from anything that may not align with God’s will for our lives. Everything we do should be an act of worship to God, including what we choose to eat. We have to stand firm in our faith and be set apart for Him.
