Honestly this interview has gave me hope that he'd fight for endgame Maleval if there were to be a Maleficent 3.

He felt the need to point it out twice that Diaval is so in love with his Mistress

Honestly though I find it so sweet that he knows that his character doesn't see Maleficent like the others might.

Diaval knows Maleficent may be prone to blow a fuse at times but will eventually calm down, so he understands why she was so hostile in the first movie— she had been hurt.

She wasn't always an "evil" fae.

He sees the good in her.

Even if the others don't.

In hindsight he gladly became Maleficent's wings because he had seen the pain she was in–

He took it upon himself to defend her reputation and honor that had been damaged by King Stefan to make sure it'll never happen again. While doing so it had caused him to fall in love with her as the time went on— seeing that she's not this big, scary, intimidating person she tries to make herself out to be.

But rather a broken soul with little faith left in humanity because of the pain they had caused her, which he's determined to help fix.

He's willing to fight for her till his last breath, not out of service, or fear— but love

Diaval's slight nod and smile upon hearing Maleficent's request to bring them to her.

Diaval following Maleficent into the castle, knowing fully well there'd be a chance they could die.

Diaval guarding himself over Maleficent to make sure nobody touches her.

This right here. His complete look of awe and utter adoration for both Maleficent and Aurora is all I need to believe.

Somewhere along the way he came to the conclusion that Maleficent and Aurora is all he'll ever need in life to be happy. He's content with the life he has now because of the two, he wouldn't want it any other way.

So I picked up ‘The Little White Bird Or The Adventures In Kensington Gardens’ by JM Barrie after not reading it for a while with the goal of trying to analyse Peter’s character. Whilst doing so, I stumbled upon a reoccurring pattern.

At the beginning of Peter’s mention, it is explained that he jumped from the ledge of his window to escape from his family and be able to 'fly’. Ok, so most young kids want to be able to fly, that’s normal. But he wants to be able to fly like a bird. Still normal. What isn’t normal is that he keeps wanting to BE a bird. He even starts believing that he is a bird.

'He was quite unaware already that he had ever been human, and thought he was a bird, even in appearance.’

'He stooped, and dipped his beak in the pond; he thought it was his beak, but, of course, it was only his nose.’

How does Wendy fit in this though? Well, just like a dog loves a dog, a human loves a human; a bird loves a bird. But how is Wendy a bird? Clearly, Peter’s a bird because he can now fly. But Wendy cant fly (Not unless its with Peters help.). The one thing Peter’s missing from being a full bird is the appearance: something that Wendy is described to have. Through out 'Peter and Wendy’, she is ALWAYS affiliated to a bird: from her looks, to her actions to Peter. Physically. Calling. Her. Bird.

SHE has the thing that Peter’s missing to be able to be a real bird. She’s HIS bird. And if she’s his, the appearance is his too. Two half birds joined creating one real bird. This real bird, believe it or not, is their love (Or as its better known, Darling Pan).
