“How could I ever be so stupid to think I had a chance with you?”
Travis was sitting in the park, just trying to read. It was a nice day out and he figured he would try catching some fresh air before going back to the confining four walls he couldn’t quite call his home. However, this plan was ruined when some guys from his school came by and grabbed his book, throwing it in the fountain next to him. He’d tried to save the book, but it was no use, the old paperback already falling apart. Sighing, Travis set the destroyed book beside him, now just staring at his lap and trying to enjoy the fresh air.
“I don’t want to hurt you!” The other had been lashing out at him; they found out about his family and their hunting of creatures like them, and started to attack him. Jayce backed away continuously, hands raised in surrender but the other not believing him. “I never wanted to hurt you! I’m not like the others, I want to protect you! I promise!”

Alex raised an eyebrow up to the man, looking as he did one handed pull ups, eventually shaking his head. “Just gonna go past you mate, don’t really need anything other than that.” He said, pulling the bag on his shoulder closer to him as he made his way past. “…I’m pretty sure if you can do one handed pull ups like that, you don’t even need to bother.” The boy said jokingly.
Jayce was quick to drop down after the other walked past him. He didn't want to be rude and not even face the other as he spoke! "Well, it doesn't hurt to continue putting in effort." He smiled. "Sorry for getting in your way, by the way. I'm Jayce, I don't think we've ever actually met." A pause.
