The Miserable Maiden

"Oh you're...! From the time that I-- Oh..." She fiddled her thumbs together, the desire to finish her sentence not within her. Admitting that she remembered the boy because she offered him a pack of free condoms and a lesson on it's usage hardly seem like the most appropriate thing to say first thing. Although... shouldn't she check up on how he was doing in those 'personal' matters?

"Maybe you don't remember me... my face is very forgettable... like a bowl of cereal that starts to grow mold... but um... it's i-important for a nurse to check up on others! So... I..." How could she do this in a discreet and careful manner? In a way that he would get without getting embarrassed?

Her heart fluttered and rose higher the longer she stared. Was it possible for a woman to be so beautiful? She looked away. Staring at her with such a dirty gaze was far too offensive. But if she left without sharing a word with her, she'd never forgive herself,

She kept her gaze downward, hid her face behind a veil of dark and spoke in a hush yet rushed tone,

A name on the tip of her tongue, like a drip of poison ready to be swallowed. She couldn't grasp at the thought or find the words she wanted to say. All she could was stare blankly at this girl who reminded her so much of someone or something she wasn't even sure was real. It was... painful. Confusing. And it promised a searing headache if she didn't think to say or do something quick.

"J... Joo.... " Frantically diverting her gaze, she searched for a conversation topic that could be her savior. An airplane in the sky? No... The cat on the gate? It had just run off. The poster on the wall-- Ah!!

"Joo... You... Y-You should get yourself checked! F-For hernias! It's a common myth that it will simply go away on i-it's own but ignoring it can lead to terrible complications. E-Even death!"

     It was a nurse's duty to care after her patient and guarantee that he was as comfortable as a bed of daisies. Which meant listening to any requests they may have had with utmost care and attention, no matter how strange or... surprising they may be. So it wasn't a question of why the man wanted a kiss after his treatment, it was a question how Mikan could deliver one to him in the most satisfactory manner.

    A kiss on the lips ran the risk of her fainting too high for her to attempt so she opted instead for a kiss she always desired. One that would make him feel safe. Maneuvering his head gently, she placed his cheek against her bosom and pressed soft, butterfly kisses against his forehead.

They're gonna be friends, I'm sure of it!

In an awkward, most obvious crab step, Mikan edged closer to the silver-haired girl. The girl who looked so much like Pekoyama. The girl who could most certainly BE Pekoyama and not some hurtful joke spurred on by the scientists or even some random villain out on a stroll.

The two of them certainly weren't close -- Mikan was always too frightened of the swords-woman to approach her one-on-one and Pekoyama seemed to prefer being on her own but... but still! Whenever a schoolmate appeared or reappeared into this city, Mikan wanted to greet them warmly, show them around if she could! And even...

She gulped as she thought that filthy thought.

She wriggled her her fingers in anticipation. Would Pekoyama allow Mikan to hug her? Or would she sliced into ribbons for the mere suggestion? The nurse made one more odd side-step before she was ready to confront the other female.
